COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of our nationís most regal structures, the Empire State Building features 200,000 cubic feet of Indiana limestone and granite. For this historic construction project the Empire Quarry in Lawrence County was specially chosen to be the sole source of the stately stone.

In tribute we present our bold Empire Imperial Stout, black as night and pouring with a thick tan head. It starts with an espresso-like, malt flavor and finishes smooth and slightly sweet from the addition of molasses in the brewing processs. Like standing at the top of a 102-story skyscraper, Empire is rewarding but not for the faint of heart.

Growler from the brewery. Pours black with a thin ring of head around the glass. The aroma is hot with alcohol, chocoate, and cherry notes. Roasted malt, bakerís chocolate, cocoa, cherry, and espresso flavors with a warming alcohol burn. Smooth mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. The finish is bitter chocoate. Nice warming stout on a cool evening.

deep, inky black. Fading head. Nose is a bit gross dirty water. Taste is very lemon sour, woody something seems off in this beer. Palate is thin, Not my thing.

12oz bottle scooped up in Columbus. Classic espresso, oily chocolate, sweet aroma. Really balanced. Iím pretty happy to have a well crafted Imperial Stout these days, and not some wacky variation of. This finishes slighty warm, the hops and alcohol have an interesting interplay. Rich sweetness, a lot of malt depth. Vanilla touches. Nice molasses tones. Good stuff.

Dark black pour with a brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, sweetness(molasses?). Taste is dry, roasted malt, sweet. Little creamy, little char. Nice lacing.

Had this on nitro at Yogi's in Bloomington. A smooth smooth imperial stout with great roasted malt flavors. Dark yet smooth and delicious. A pleasant surprise. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from a bottle into a snifter a very dark brown with a creamy head that quickly dissipates into attractive lacing. Aroma is alcohol cocoa malty sweetness. Taste is impressive. Chocolate licorice brown sugar malts. Finish speaks of burnt sugar-nice, Thick to the palate balanced expertly. Very much enjoying this brew as it warms up

Bottle pours very dark brown-black with thin tan head. Malty aroma with molasses and roast. Taste dark caramel with roast, molasses, coffee. A bit of an ashy finish. Thick near-chewy palate. Impressive beer from a brewery I hadnít heard much about.

tap - Pours black with a small tan head. It smells of chocolate malt, roasted coffee, and alcohol. The taste is sweet and full of roast chocolate malt. Thereís some booze noticeable but it doesnít detract from the beer. Itís full bodied and when I had it immediately after some Old Rasputin, I found the Cutterís to be a little more intense. Both are very good, of course. Well done.

bottle. This is one fantastic Imperial Stout. First Iíd heard of this brewery - but they now have my attention. One of the best imperial stouts Iíve had in a while. Serious taste and remarkable palate. Big fan

Nice dark stout, poured in class from 12 oz bottle. Pretty much no head on this bad boy. Great flavor with the typical coco and roasted coffee been notes. Not an overwhelming alcohol flavor, which is nice considering this is a 10% brew.

Pours an opaque black with almost no head. A bit of lacing down the glass. Smells heavily of chocolate with a little bit of sweetness from the molasses Iím presuming. Not a whole lot of complexity in the nose, but nothing bad here either. Very thick and syrupy initial sweetness rounding into a profile heavily featuring roasty malts. Very chocolately throughout with a little bit of a coffee/roast finish along with a little bit of booze. Good balance between the roast and malt overall. Nice and creamy. Carbonation level is a tad high for the style, but not a detriment. Medium-thick without being cloying. Alcohol burn is slightly present, but pretty well masked for the ABV. I havenít especially liked anything from this brewery before, but I can say this is a very solid beer. Not world class, but a very good smooth and creamy stout Iíd be happy to drink anytime Iím the mood for something heavier. The price point is a bit high for a new brewery trying to establish itself, but this a flagship beer so get these out to the masses.
