Mes_and_Sim (3967), London, Greater London, England Jun 8, 2008 A Mes rate: Bottle from Dranken Geers. Lovely clean gold colour with plenty of rising carbonation. Initially huge rocky head that is full of huge bubbles, settling to a thin covering that lasts well and leaves plenty of chunky lacing. Pleasant yeasty and alcoholic aroma that is typically Belgian. Lovely sweetness and delicately spiced hoppage. Flavour has an odd burnt and smoky note that doesn’t really work. Slight hops, more yeast and some fairly harsh alcohol. Salty finish with some faint bitterness leaving some lingering alcohol. A little sticky unfortunately. Almost very nice but the flavour lets it down. JK54B (205), Finland May 28, 2008 Pale yellow colour. Big head but fast dissapearing. Some apple in the nose. Quite mild finish and hints of metal. Lalli (51), Helsinki, Finland Mar 28, 2008 33cl bottle. Pale hazy yellow color. Dry nose with touch of wine. Very dry, champagne-like taste. Juniper in the finish. Not quite my bag. oh6gdx (5195), Vaasa, Finland Feb 18, 2008 Bottled. Pale golden colour with big fluffy/bubbly head. Aroma is malts, some fruits, yeast and grass. Also some mild earthyness. Flavour is fruity, grassy, yeasty and some mild notes of cooked vegetables in the background. Hides the alcohol quite well. TBone (4841), Pori, Finland Feb 17, 2008 Bottled@OPP, Helsinki
Clear golden yellow color, huge Duvel-like lively cloudy white head. Malty, mash aroma with hints of lemon. Grapefruity flavor. Crisp, hoppy flavor. Nice tripel with excellent hop profile.
