Augustijn55 (82), Izegem, Belgium Sep 7, 2006 Orange-amber coloured. Fruity and yeasty aroma. Citrus fruits and malts in the flavour. Sweet. Light sourness in the finish. Also some grassy bitterness. Medium body. One of my favorites,
thanks to Jerre, who let me taste this !
Jerre (1347), Waregem, Belgium Aug 27, 2006 Orange-amber beer, very stable. Celeri, roasted malts, herbal, fruity & lactic, wet straw aromas. Roasted malts taste with sourish overtones (lactic & rhubarb), again vegetable in character. Quite fizzy, stressing even more the sourish touches, but the beer is thick, chewy. Alcohol obvious. One off my favorites TBone (4942), Pori, Finland Feb 17, 2008 Bottled@OPP, Helsinki
Clear golden yellow color, huge Duvel-like lively cloudy white head. Malty, mash aroma with hints of lemon. Grapefruity flavor. Crisp, hoppy flavor. Nice tripel with excellent hop profile. bu11zeye (3656), Frisco, Texas, USA Sep 11, 2007 (Bottle, room temp) Pours a cloudy golden maize complexion with a large gushing beige head with long retention. Preliminary sour notes transitioning to toffee and figs that elevate and flutter from the snifter; afterward follows with some freshly baked apple pie and musty cellar aroma. Has a full bodied toffee maltiness with some green raisins, apple, and spicy yeast qualities. Slightly smooth mouthfeel, rich palate. Quite surprised by this one. Thanks to Anders for the delightful treat. Dixen (1465), Copenhagen, Denmark Mar 15, 2006 Sweet and light yeasty nose, with a nice fruityness. Hazy dark golden body with a medium sized white head. Sweet and light grainy flavor, some yeastyness in the end. In the end a very mediocre belgian ale.
