Bottle purchased at Blacklick Wine & Spirits after a friend told me this was the best beer he drank in 2009. Pour is cloudy orange and the head is a medium off-white. Funky nose with plenty of citrus (orange and lemon) notes. Sweet orange flavor up front with a sour and funky lemon finish. Tasty.

Bottle. Fruity, sour, sweet, woody, very barnyardy, huge bitterness for this kind of beer. A VERYcomplex beer, that I think would develope in the cellar.

750 ml bottle from the Charleston Beer Exchange (Really nice sour selection). This part of my exploration it the new (for me) frontier wild fermented (funky and/or sour) beers. This one is really solid. Creamy head that dissipates reasonably quickly. Very nice palate and it looks beautiful (I love unfiltered beer). It tastes great, very sour. Hints of cherry, apple, and barrell! This is not your monk’s cafe, it a very sour beer, but delicious! Aroma is little funky minimal. Overall this is a sour beer but it is not a funky beer, it is not barnyard or cheesy (which I love, my fav. brett beers are funky).

Pours a hazy amber colour with a minimum white head.
The aroma is dry and tart with notes of grape and oak.
The flavour is dry and dominated by oak with notes of ripe grape and a hint of dirt.
Not very complex but nice.

Bottled:
Pours deep, somewhat hazy golden with a small bubbly head. Aroma is grapefruit, tart apples and metal. Flavour is sourish winter apples, grapefruit rind and nettles. Very refreshing.

(Bottle) Pours hazy golden. The aroma is really bretty with tones of horse blanket and barnyard. Undertones of citrus, lacto, cheese, wheat and phenols. The flavour is dry and medium acidic. Horse blanket, barnyard, citrus, wood and wheat. The mouthfeel is clean and tart with light to medium carbonation. Citrusy finish. Light to medium bodied.

From ZBF 2010. Whoa. Pours a clear light orange with a thin white head tht leaves okay lace. Awesome gueuze nose with light viegar, feet, green apples. Taste is grapefruit rind, light sushi vinegar, green apples skins. Nice mouth-watering taste. Very nice!
