Rate #500. Pours a golden color, clear and with a white soft pillowy head. Really nice aroma full of basement funk, sour lemons, barnyard, yeast, fresh baked bread, and some spice like cinnamon. Just a really nice complex aroma. The flavor is strong and sour and the 2 ales marry nicely creating wonderfully complex flavors. Nice light fruity flavors, lemon, and earth come through nicely. Very lively on the palate, somewhat thin body but it fits the style well. Finish is a little dry, but nice.

Trevlig doft av ek och äpple. Smaken ganska len - nästan vattnig. Ingen syrlighet eller eftersmak. Åt Timmermannshållet.

Sweet malty, brett-like aroma. Chalky gold color with off-white head. Light tart gueuze-like, musty but mild. A great beer. Notes: Zythos ’11

Bottle - Pours honey amber with a small white head. Sour fruit dominates the nose, with sulfur, light gueuzey funk, and a decent amount of tartness. Taste is yeasty and sour, with a lemony funk that lasts through the finish. Light and effervescent, this one is quenching with just the right amount of tartness. Would like a bottle of this to myself.

UPDATED: MAR 7, 2011 Pours a fluffy but fading into a film of beige head with a hazy deep golden-amber body. Aromas are sour, slight banana note, some tropical fruit notes. Flavor is about the same with a nice sour and funky bite. Finish is funky and short. Not overly sour. All in all, a lot like watered down orange juice with a squirt of lime. Refreshing and pleasing to drink. Could down a few of these on a hot day.

This is a blend of normal blonde and spontaniously fermented beer. It tastes most of the latter, even though it has a bit more bitternes than you’ll find in a normal geueze.

A hazy yellow colored beer, with a small white head. The aroma of sour with wood notes fruits like apples, cider. The taste is fruity some sweet with sour. Notes of wood and dough. The aftertaste is sour with some sweet.

Bottle courtesy of my Secret Santa. Best before 1/15. Pours an amber-gold color with a good foam on top. A thin layer sticks around. Yeasty and funky in the aroma with a lot of sour fruit from the lambic but also soft citrus, straw, grass, and earth. An interesting scent, like a hybrid between a Lambic and a Saison. The flavor offers much of the same. There’s some light herbs, grass, wheat, softer fruit, that combine with funky and sharp soured fruit. There’s definitely some acidity to this but it’s not incredibly sour. Vinous, oak and cheese notes mix in, some of these underneath the bolder flavors. The fruit character is of peaches, mango, grape skins, and grapefuit, and it is really quite tasty and refreshing. Overall, I liked this one.

Pours clear yellow, nice fluffy white head. Aroma has notes of lemon, acid, funky barnyard, cheese, thick horseblanket. Taste is nice and tart, not overly sour, but with nice funky notes to balance it out. A great brew, would like to try out aged more than a year for sure.
