4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 minch25 (564) - Medford, Massachusetts, USA - OCT 30, 2009
Clear orange gold, bubbly, light head. Very sour aroma, rather attacks your nose. There is some fruit in there as well, reminds me of the same fruit in Cuvee de Castleton. Nectarine, peach. Those come through in the flavor, and the carbonation comes off as a slightly prickly texture, further reminding me of peaches. Moderately aggressive sourness. My goodness this is good stuff. Has a lot of the juicy fruit flavors that even a lot of lambics don’t usually have. A bitterness in the back that I might describe as "cherry pit" in some other beers, only here I would call it peach pit. Delicious.

750ml. Pours light golden with a small White head. Arp
Is a nice sharp tartness and barnyard funk. Slight aged cheese, sour apple note. Flavor is delicious sharp sour funk, but not so sour it loses the smooth mouthfeel. Sharp and crisp finish. Medium body and a sharper carbonation. Delicious
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Elwood (1967) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - OCT 11, 2010
Serving: 750 ml. bottle from State Line Liquors.
Aroma: The nose has a nice tart note with a slight floral undercurrent. A little cider, hay, and horse blanket emerge as the brew warms up a bit.
Appearance: It pours a nice gold color with a sizeable foamy white head.
Taste: The flavor is clean with the expected upfront acidity followed by light hay and an almost chardonnay like taste. There is a touch of light sweetness on the back end.
Palate: Light in body with above average levels of carbonation and a nice, clean finish.
Overall: A great example of the style, extremely well balanced and highly recommended!
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 crossovert (2781) - Wisconsin, USA - AUG 21, 2011
750ml bottle bottled in April of 2008. Best before 04 2013.
It pours into my 25cl geuze glass a clear gold with hues of orangeish amber and a fizzy white head that leaves a bit of lacing. It certainly looks drinkable.
The smell is quite geuze like. IT has some intense apple notes, some sour apple, lemon, and other fruit. There is a slight hint of caramel form the malt. It also has some acidity and the oft noted barnyard funk, though the funkiness is kept pretty much at bay in the smell.
The flavor is tart and sour. It has some really strong green apple and lemon flavors. Just a nice tart acidity, almost like licking a lemon then eating a granny smith. It has a sweet initial taste but ends with a dry pucker.
This is a really nice beer, a refreshing one despite the higher abv.

Sampled at the ’09 RBPTE, courtesy of cheapdark. Light wheat malt and no hops, but a big yeasty, barnyard, cheesy nose. Great sour nose. Hazy light golden amber body with creaym white lacing, lasting head. Light bodied with with lively carbonation and astringent after. Heavy acidic tang, funky yeasty taste, tart and delicious. Medium bitter after. Nice sour.

750 mL bottle, capped and < 1 year old: Pours with a thin starch white head that persists throughout the sampling. Orange, with rose hues. Crisp, slightly sour and lemon citrusy aroma. Nicely carbonated: tingly and lively. Dry mouthfeel enters after the initial fun with the carbonation. Flavors of strawberries, hay, sour grapes, wisps of honey, and limestone. Great!
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 Christian (8548) - Odense, DENMARK - APR 27, 2008
Cloudy amber with a small off-white head. Great funky brett aroma, lots of grapefruit. Sweet and fruity at first, tartness and some bitterness makes it perfect, with background notes of alcohol and wood.
