Acetobacter (816) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 29, 2011
Enjoyed from a 750ml bottle in a stemless wine glass. The beer pours a light copper color, with essentially no head. Notes of leather, "sweaty horse blanket," and the countryside during Spring come through in the aroma. To call it "appetizing" would be the equivalent of calling Luther "vaguely significant." The palate shows a bit of spritz up front, before a moderate sourness, more of the aforesaid Brettanomyces characteristics, light fruit notes, a slight bitterness, and a touch of lemon come through. The palate is bone dry and mouthfeel is just right. Mouthfeel is perhaps just slightly filled out by a bit of residual Pediococcus character, but it is by no means ropy. The finish is dry, lightly tart, and lightly leathery. Overall, absolutely wonderful; seemingly the earthly form of what "cuvee" should mean.

750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy amber with moderate head. Aromas of feet, basement, crabapples, and sour candy. Flavors of green apples, quince, lemonade, and grass, with a lingering plastic note. OK.

I don’t know how many times I’ve passed this on the shelf thinking I’d already tried it, but it’s a solid sour so why not give it another go. Pours a surprisingly small white foamy head atop a clouded, deep amber body. Nose of tart apples and dry white wine. Flavour is highly tart, sweet apple undertones. Not a lot of complexity and fairly even keeled. Above average. 750ml bottle purchased from The Strath in Victoria.

Med ölföreningen, smak och doft av syrliga äpplen, toner av vinäger, trä, örter och bete. Syrlig, jämn och fin med fatkaraktär. Vintage 2010.

Vignale (1805) - Malmö, SWEDEN - MAR 24, 2014
2010 Vintage, från SB, drucken med systembolaget. Nära en geuze i doft och smak. Aningen mer mjölksyra, lite större sötma, stor, men lite rundare mjukare syra. Annars stora likheter med stall, syrliga äpplen, citrus, vete, trä. Hur som helst riktigt gott.

Lagerboy (1070) - British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 18, 2014
750 ml bottle; Best before end of: 10 2015. Clear then clouded apple juice color, small off-white fading foam. Sour yeasty aroma. Acidic and lightly bitter, sour green fruity taste, some faint farmyard funk. Softer than average carbonation, light-medium body, low hopped. Finishes tart slightly dry. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)

Marstonlad (331) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAR 8, 2014
Bottle at Kaisla, Helsinki. Pours cloudy golden with a big, frothy head. Aroma is full of berries and fresh fruitiness, especially apple, with some yeasty notes. Taste is crisp, tart, dry and sour, also light bitter. Sour apple and currant feature most. The palate is medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Very interesting.

Bottled, large sample. Slight hazy yellow color, medium white head. Aroma is slight tart, some bubblegum, bit fruity like strawberry, hint of horseblanket. Slight sweet, bit sour, bit dry finish. Soft carbonation. Smooth on the palate. Lovely combination of fruity blonde sour with a hint of lambic. Balance is outstanding. Wonderful beer!
