Hazy copper orange with tanned decent head. Lively carbonation. Fresh aroma of fruits and hops and maybe a hint of alcohol. Medium-bodied, portwineous palate. Flavour is herbal hoppy leaving hoppy bitter aftertaste. Hides ABV well.

(Bottled) Dark amber/copper color with a smallish, lacy head. Very fruity, almost port-wineous aroma of berries and burned sugar. A delicious, earthy berry flavor with elegant hopping, a hint of rhubarb, and a sweet but nicely balanced finish. Medium to full-bodied, low-carbonated and syrupy, very smooth palate. Completely hidden alcohol. Another delicious dessert brew from Silly - I just can’t stop loving this brewery! My 800th rating :)

Head is initially large, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium amber, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel), moderately yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of sherry and alcohol. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter, slightly unclean. Medium to full body, velvety texture, soft carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Strong but kind of dull aroma, and not especially clean in the aftertaste. Looks great though.

Had only the tinies sip of this one. Sweet, soft, full malts. Delicate, but assertive, hops. Good balance.

haukur (1742) - Reykjavik, ICELAND - APR 17, 2004
UPDATED: APR 26, 2004 dark ruby red, aroma is a bit smoked with hints of nuts and raisins, with a very hoppy aftertone. Taste was surprisingly hoppy, fruity and fresh, with a pleasant malty aftertone. When drinking this, you feel that alot of work has been put into this.. excellent brew!

Dark for a Triple, but that is surely what this is. Unique and highly appetizing aroma of roasted almonds. Rich malt flavors hit first, followed by a balanced bit of aged hops, which is then lost in a nice taste of subdued alcohol. A refined, elegant drink. Superb!
