From tap at Cafe de Foy in Lille. Foamy and persistent white head. Good aroma of European hops and good pilsner. Sweet, as in succade. Well balanced.

750 mL bottle from the SAQ, served in a stem glass. Pours clear golden with a small white head and champagne carbonation. The nose has lots of grass, pale malts, grain, yeast and subtle spice. The flavour is mildly sweet with subtle noble hops for balance. Grain, spice and yeast comes through as well. The finish is short and malty with soft hops and subtle spice. On the palate, it is light-medium in body with a watery texture and intense carbonation. Overall, a fairly simple tripel. Not the most interesting. 2015-01-17

Bomber into a tulip. Pours a hazy light yellow, with a medium white head that slowly fades. Nose is citrus. Taste is citrus and light spices. Clean, short dry finish. Very carbonated due to bottle fermentation. Pretty good, but there are better Belgian trippels.

Super bomber into a 6oz taster. From Ricky. Pours a hazy sunshine wheat. Head is light, white, fizzy and 2cm. Aroma is dried apricots, other citrus mesh, and ample spice. Taste is dry fruits, tad ginger, tad melon, garden appeal, tangy and zesty orange with a seltzer aspect. Wish there was more of a hop slap to this, but drinks well with a nice flow of orange zest. Nice beer to bring in 2015.

Pour is a hazy golden with a large white head. Aroma is yeasty ester with a bit of citrus fruit. Flavor is a dull fruit like pear with some sugar and a wheat pale malt. I expect Belgian’s to be a bit a bigger in flavor. Still this was fine. It’s a high carbonated fruity Belgian ale and it has a high points but it’s not very interesting.
