75cl bottle, picked up from the surprisingly impressive Aligro cash and carry in Geneva and shared with the Indian. Cool bottle! Poured a curious bright pale yellow with a billowing head. Quite light and restrained in aroma and flavours, some spritzy citrus, a light floral hop bitterness that isn’t overpowering but definitely grows, some yeast. Not sure if I’d have called a Tripel but who cares, it’s a nice enjoyable lightish but flavoursome ale.

Bottle at Papsø’s - Thanks. Cloudy yellow - white head. Phenolic, apple, yeasty, pear, light toasted, flowery notes, honey, citrus. Boring - I don’t like.

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy pale yellow with a fully gone head. Aroma is almost citrusy and light phenolic. High carbonation. Citrusy, phenolic and mellow yeasty. Bitter, citrusy and almost champagne like. Light bitter and citrusy finish.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a small white head. Sweet fruity nose with a little yeast. Medium body, heavy carbonation - excessive - sweet and fruity, white sugars. Some warming alcohol. Rather unimpressive - your typical overcarbonated Belgian ale. 221112

Light nearly clear pour full white head lightly laced. Highly carbonated light airy palate. Light Belgian breads with a dry finish with almost a light hop pine note ever so slightly in the finish.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Pours brilliantly clear. The aroma is fruity, spicy, sweet sugars- this reminds me of a blend using a saison and pilsner. The flavor is earthy, floral, spicy. Very dry and light bodied. Nice beer.

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2012 750mL bottle from Cellier des Arcades. Pours your standard hazy straw gold with a lot of white head. Aroma is a nice blend of yeast and hops, more so the yeast. Flavour is a lot of yeast upfront with a hop bite near the finish and lingering pale malty aspects on the palate. Good hops for the style (which the bottle claims to be Abbey Tripel), but nothing overly impressive. Lacks the harshness of a lot of other Tripels, but still with a little boozyness to it.
