3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle/750ml - Pours a clear pale straw yellow in color with a medium foamy white head that quickly settled to a small covering over the beer. Aroma is strong of Belgian yeasts light fruits (apple, grape, pear) and some spicy hops. Flavor is quite fruity/estery with plenty of green apples, some lemon and pears... perhaps some stone fruit as well. A bit of the hops with some of their bitterness. Carbonation adds some sparkle. Bready yeasts are also present throughout. A bit of "funk" at the end. Quite pleasant and very easy drinking. The flavor would stand up to more alcohol, but that is definitely not needed in this very excellent beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the Pour House, I have seen this in bottles before and always wanted to try, glad that my local bar put it on. Pour is a very light gold color, somewhat clear. Aromas of green apples, candy sugar, little bit of raspberry, brandy, and plum wine. Taste is very sweet with tons of sugary notes, sour apples, cherry, vanilla, rich barley. This beer was very sweet and boozey for the amount of alchohol. This beer is warming in the belly. Alright beer, just too much sweetness for me.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle of Cuvee Special with a best before of 2013. Hazy yellow hue with quite a bit of sediment after the first pour. Massive white head of foam. Aroma of belgian yeast first and foremost, lots of esters (apple, pear, dried apricots), potpourri, fennel, some phenols (clove, coriander and white pepper). A bit of dryness (candi sugar like notes), possibly some spicy hop, minimal malt character (just a mild graininess). Flavors are dry, a light raisin quality and then some pear like esters, a bit of marmalade/orange, mild phenol. Some alcohol, not much malt. Lasting yeastiness. Relatively clean though (at least compared to the nose).
Extremely lively carbonation, light bodied. Mildly warming. Overall a light, refreshing, yet still somewhat potent Belgian Golden Strong. Decent for sure but not too characterful.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle to tulip. Pours golden yellow with floaties and a white soapy head that dissipates to foamy collar. Aroma is pepper and lemon citrus with a faint sour note. Taste starts with a quick sweetness and then follows with a peper spice and citrus with some lemon and bready finish with just enough warmth in the swallow. Palate is medium and fizzy with a chaulky dry finish. Decent brew with an easy drinkability.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(bottle - corked & caged 750 ml) Clear gold pour with a fizzy white head. Spicy and peppery aroma with lots of grassy notes. Flavor is very bitter and acidic at the start with a high degree of spice. Very bitter all throughout and very heavily carbonated. A bit too sharp for me.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
bouteille 75cl, BB end 2013.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy yellow body, white head. Aroma is hoppy with citrus and some belgian yeast. Flavour has nice flouriness and bananas. Yeast is quite sharp and dominating. Fortunately it is good yeast flavour.
