pours cloudy amber yellow, decent sized foamy head, layer of micro CO2 retention, sticky lacing all around, plentiful active CO2 streams. Sugared malts on the nose. Drinks with an extremely smooth and creamy mouthfeel, apricots, grapefruit tang/bitterness, malts, 6/10-sweetness level, finishes clean with a slight warmth. Minor alcohol detection throughout. Medium complexity, med-high depth, short-med length, good carry, good transitions, excellent drinkability. Superb quality beer.

Bart (2941) - Brussels, BELGIUM - FEB 9, 2012
Bottle with Robin and Stefaan @ Avoriaz. Light hazy golden blond coloured beer with a medium white head and lots of carbonation. Rather hoppy and grassy hinted aroma with a sweet veggy touch. Medium to full palate. Finish is light sweet bitter hoppy with a short herby ending. Not really convincing actually. I prefer the original.

Bottle/750ml - Pours a clear pale straw yellow in color with a medium foamy white head that quickly settled to a small covering over the beer. Aroma is strong of Belgian yeasts light fruits (apple, grape, pear) and some spicy hops. Flavor is quite fruity/estery with plenty of green apples, some lemon and pears... perhaps some stone fruit as well. A bit of the hops with some of their bitterness. Carbonation adds some sparkle. Bready yeasts are also present throughout. A bit of "funk" at the end. Quite pleasant and very easy drinking. The flavor would stand up to more alcohol, but that is definitely not needed in this very excellent beer.

On tap at the Pour House, I have seen this in bottles before and always wanted to try, glad that my local bar put it on. Pour is a very light gold color, somewhat clear. Aromas of green apples, candy sugar, little bit of raspberry, brandy, and plum wine. Taste is very sweet with tons of sugary notes, sour apples, cherry, vanilla, rich barley. This beer was very sweet and boozey for the amount of alchohol. This beer is warming in the belly. Alright beer, just too much sweetness for me.
