Une bouteille partagée par le beau-frère. Une bière blonde classique avec de la mousse blanche. Un nez de malt blond avec de la levure belge et des arômes épicées. Une bouche simple avec des levures belges et une finale sur les phénols.

I enjoyed this beer very much. It has a nice soft texture with a great spicey aroma of honey and caramel.

250ml bottle from Beer Station, Xiamen. Pours hazy yellow with a thin white head. Floral aroma with a hint of lemon and some malt. Sweet finish, underlying alcohol.

March 30th, 2013 - Cuvee de Trolls - a Norwegian or Scandinavian title for a Belgian style brew. Like the title, the color is light, but it projects a massive, huge, aspen white head. The aroma is spritz and light, with some white grape juice, and even fried potato, like potato chips. There’s a floral touch too, but it feels ad hoc. The palate is fluffy, and buttery, like a croissant, but the palate is dense and heavy. There are buttery notes in the flavor too, and strokes of pear, but the overall flavor experience is light and grainy, like a saison smeared with butterscotch pudding, and quenching in the same way that summer styles tend to be. Is it exciting? Much less so than the label, but still a pleasant brew.

750ml bottle - To say I wasn’t impressed with this beer would be an understatement. If fact, I don’t recall the last time I gave a Belgian strong a lower score than a 3. Aroma is decidedly sweet with an almost buttery effect. Light honey and apples too, but I swear I can smell buttered bread. Spicy-orange-peel like flavor, old honey and alcohol come up in the flavor dept. I’m guessing the honey is candi sugar that’s just gotten old and past it’s prime. I’m wondering what this would be like after 6-months post bottling.

Golden beer, white head. The aroma is the most interesting part of this beer - herbal, spicy and with clear notes of grape juice. Tastewise its a bit weak - some yeast and fresh fruit.

Very weak effort from a normally top notch brewery. Looks like a normal lager and tastes and smells like a blonde. Average body. I would never have guessed this was a Belgian ale had I not known beforehand; there is little to no hint of the traditional yeast or spices.
