3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: SEP 2, 2007 Big fan of Debuisson’s beers and the humorous Trolls is no exception. Looks exceptionally nice in my recently purchased Trolls glass. Pale yellow with small white head and some spotty lacing. Ack! Have ended up with a wet nose trying to get a good whiff. Oops. Delicious buttery toffee aroma, hence why I closed my eyes to enjoy it. Great taste to match - mildly spicey with honey, lemon and orange sweetening things up. Soft and slightly bitter with a dry finish. Fruity, fresh and fun. What clever little trolls!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a slightly hazy brilliant and sparkling orange color. Head is medium, white and fluffy. It has great retention and leaves a fine film and lacing.
Aroma is fruity/yeasty showing notes of orange, apple, pears and other fresh fruits. Light touches of honey and spices complemented by faint hoppy herbal hints. Fine.
Flavor is light and spicy/fruity sweet with low bitterness. There are traces of vanilla, oranges and light peaches, herbs and green tea. It’s very soft though.
Light body, watery texture. Alcohol is noticeable in aroma and flavor. Smooth, low carbonation. A fairly simple, easy-to-drink brew. Not bad but i’ve tasted better belgian ales.

Bottled. Sparkling, golden beer with a white head. Sweet, malty nose with some fruity hops and a tiny hint of alcohol. The flavor has sweetness and some cellar, and it’s quite fruity. Medium to full body, with a quite pleasant finish of sweetness, bitterness and some cellar. (060513)

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAR 19, 2007 25 cl at The Only Café. Served WAY too cold. When warmed up, CDT showed some light spiciness and caramel. Overall grainy taste, and hard-to-detect aroma. Might be better if not stored at freezing temperature, but rather just mildly cooled before serving.
-slight re rate - +1 flavor / +1 appearance / +1 overall - enjoyed a better bottle at Ciro’s - slightly honeyish heaviness and beautiful fruit overtones. Really good bottle this time.

Rather easy-drinking Belgian Strong Ale. Went down real quick, which was good because I could then start drinking something better. I read somewhere that this was a good beer for the college kids. Belgian college kids no doubt, because we all know that American college kids are doing keg stands of Bud.
