Had this on-tap tonight at fatheads. A-Body looks very similar to, say, delirium tremens...Somewhat translucent...but more transparent pale lemon yellow body with plenty of bubbles seen rising to the top. Served with a 1 finger or so foamy white head that eventually fades 10 <1/4 finger but has ok retention w/ some small traces of lacing left down the glass. S- Nose is pretty mild. Dry fruit suck as apple and pear can be detected as well as a grainy wheat component and a slight dry alcohol component. T- Flavor is fairly mild. Some dry fruity flavors such as apple and pear upfront with a substantial bready/grainy backbone as well as a slight pepper spice. The finish is quite clean and dry with a light herbal hop accent...a touch of alcohol heat lingers as well as a slight remnant of wheat. P-Medium carbonation and a light body. Body is light, spritzy, and champagne like-not really affected by alcohol consistency. O-Overall this is a decent BSPA. Its pretty champagne/tripel like and gives the impression of being lightly fruity, dry, and spritzy. Still fairly drinkable and well put together though not anywhere near my favorite of the style. It said filtered on the bottle, but this is quite hazy, a bit darker than a witbeer. Fruity alcoholic aroma with prunes, with a bit of alcoholic aftertaste. Taste sugar as well.

Banal and dull. Nose is stunted sweetness and alcohol. In the mouth it is just alcohol with a little spice. Really boring and all in all piss poor.

25cl bottle: Picked this up in an Auchan in France. This one poured a crystal clear golden color. There was a frothy white head on it that dropped away rather quickly. Surprisingly lighter aroma. A little yeasty and a bit grassy. Maybe some very faint spice. The body is a little lighter also. As is the taste. Some malts, breadiness, pepper. A touch dry finish. Certainly not the best Belgian Strong Ale I have ever had, but still OK. I like the little troll on the label.

on tap @ Finkenkrug in Dusseldorf. I love Belgian Strong ales. This one, however, really disappointed me. It was very one sided and lacked any real depth. Pours a orange/cloudy hue decent head, in a Troll bowl. Nose is fermented yeast, alcohol, banana notes, some feature grains, and citric hits. Slight hop bite in the taste with a few dark fruits, clove, apple, plum, and apricot. Somewhat bitter aspect with a strange *off* taste. Lots of alcohol. Palate was very unbalanced however and the flavors mentioned above were all over the place, which really killed the taste for me.

Nice bright straw color with a 2 finger head. Aroma of swet malt but lighter hops, definitely picked up the belgian yeast. Taste of soft banana sweetness with lite citrus hop. But this had no finale. It was liike it just vanished in my mouth, and the body tasted a bit runny mid way through the beer.

On tap at OBriens. Light yellow color. Some Belgian banana yeast aroma. Some phenols. Dryish. Pretty decent.

Shared this one w/SkyCop32. Pours a light golden yellowish color. Aromas of fruit, yeast and some pepper. Flavors are sour, yeasty, and a touch of sweetness at the finish.

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2010 Bottle at home. Light yellow colour, little head that disappears pretty quick. Sourness all over. Probably a bad one, cause this was almost disgusting bad. Need to retry it one day again. Edit: retry. Yellow body, small white head, could hold a bit longer. Smell is fruity, yeast, earthy. Taste is not my thing completly neither, but not as bad as I remember. Sour-sweet frtuis, earthy and yeast. So gonna give this one a higher score.
