rederic (3202) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 20, 2008
Slighty hazy gloden hue, with a small white head, sweet honeyed pale malt, with a wet grainy malt and hay nose, with a subtle vanilla spiciness, some candi sugar, kind of a corny aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a sweet grainy, honeyed pale malt character, with a mild wet, corny accent, a shy flowery hop note, and a subtle vanilla spiciness, leading towards a malty, lingering citrus hop bitterness finish.

Bottle: Poured a deep golden ale with a white foamy head with good retention and some minimal lacing. Aroma of Belgian malt with some sweetness and some notes of dry European hops. Taste is also dominated by some sweet malt notes with light bitter and dry notes of hops. Medium body with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol.

I had avoided this one, not being a big fan of the brewery. Then you get in a group of guys who are swearing by this beer, saying it’s excellent blah blah blah, and what can you do but try it? But you should have known. In fact it looked pretty nice, a dark golden color with white head. Smelled nice too, with honey, spice and fruit aromatics. But the flavor was a bit grainy and flabby, wet, and it finished too clean. A letdown. Not bad, but not that good.

Rubbish metallic and acid based flavour across a hazy colour. Ordinary for the price. High alcohol content is not at all balanced.

25 cl bottle from Bieropholie, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Medium golden, clear, remnants of a frail white head. Aroma: Sweet, fruity macro – floral honey and some vague fruits mixed with cereal/grain/corn, bizarre; the fruits become perfume-like after a few sniffs, a bit more tropical and exotic, Palate: Medium body and very soft carbonation lend an impression of velvet smoothness. Flav.: Non-descript sweetness, cereal and grain; a bit of the floral/perfumey, exotic fruits as it warms more; slightly sweet, a fair hit of alcohol and only a touch of vague fruit in the aftertaste.

I didn’t realize that trolls were so sweet and so kind and smelled so gosh darn purdy.

Hazy golden with short lasting head. Sweet aroma with yeast and fruits. Fruity flavor with spices, orange peel and a bitter end.

Bottle- Small head, huge huge honey aroma with notes of grapes and cinnamon.Strangely it has none of the above in the flavour. Pepper and malt some small lemon hints, not very impressed (also since it was almost CAD$10 per bottle)

A good drinkable beer without any big character.Nice color, medium head, in the flavour you can feel some hop&citrus&spices(Try the other one, Scaldish / Bush...These are the characters...)
