3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: Pale and veiled yellow with a small but tenacious white head that clings to the walls of the glass.
Aroma: Hay, various spices, light skunk. Maybe a little wood too.
Taste: Dry with a short aftertaste.
Flavors: woody, yeasty/estery... Not sure I’m sensitive enough to pickup everything though. Somewhat complex.
Overall: An OK beer, way better than some ratings make it appear. I wouldn’t buy a whole case of this, but it is still a good belgian ale.

I’m not sure if this is brewed by trolls or if they are an ingredient. Honey, fruit, caramel, a touch of spice. Or maybe that’s the troll?

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Golden with a white head. The taste is citrus and a little spice with some marmalade and mango. A syrupy mouthfeel. Light and refreshing. Quite enjoyable.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from R.Leclerc, Riberac. Poured a clear, mid golden colour, with a thin white head. Aroma of malt, honey and grain. Crisp flavour, not that typical for the style; some caramel and soft fruit in there. Finish was quite lager like with some zesty lemon and bready malt.

25cl bottle from Auchan. Pours pale gold with persistent white head. Fairly sweet Belgian sugar aroma, taste is a little bland and weak, comes and goes without leaving much of a mark.

Honestly can’t remember this much except that it wasn’t great and the label caught me off guard. But it’s in the notes...it’s a Belgian Strong Ale that was not so tasty I can’t say much else honestly.

Een bier zonder veel smaak aan, spijtig want ik had er al veel goeds van gehoord.
