Small white rim over coppery-golden beer. Spices, coriander in particular, dull. Dreary dull-grainy to malty flavour, but finishing more spicy. Medium bodied, slick. Nothing special...

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
750ml poured into a Duvel Tulip.
A - Pours a hazed apricot orange, with a one finger head that forms a center island. Lackluster lacing.
S - Tropical yeasty esters, green banana, mango, pineapple, peach, wheat, peppery, hints of wood and grass, fruity alcohol, slight floral hops.
T - Lots of peach and mango, hints of green banana peel, wheat , pineapple, herbal honey, some lemon citrus and astringent alcohol hints mid drink and mixes with throws everything off. Some rough vanilla and wood round off the that finish.
M - Lush carbonation, medium bodied, creamy feel, alcohol heat.
This has nice tropical yeast esters and drinks good except for the fusel alcohol heat. At 7.5% the alcohol shouldn’t be noticeable at all but seems to be choking out everything except for tropical flavors which end dull. This beer has a great start but needs a 2nd half.

0.8 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
33 cl. bottle @ home. Procured @ Willems. No BBF. Pours a hazy orange with a thick whipped cream, white head, solid. Nose is oddly lactic, yoghurt, like an American sour but not in a good way, sour milk, brett peaches, milky, white bread dough, this cannot be right? Taste is bitter rotting mould, thick fermenting bread dough, rotting fruits, bitter esters, floral, strongly lactic, spoiled milk, spoiled yoghurt,… Too high carb. No there is no way that this is correct. Infected (I hope, otherwise wtf?), I cannot drink this & I am a tolerant guy when it comes to beer. Previous two reviewers also note that theirs was infected, not a good track record.

1.2 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Buttery aroma, odd flavor. This one seems like an off bottle. One of the few Belgian imports that doens’t hit the mark and seems totally off.

25/X/2012 - 33cl bottle from De Bierloods/Zytholoog (Adegem) @ home - BB: V/13 (2012-1174)
GUSHER alert! Apparently it’s not my lucky day, 2nd infected bottle in a row...
Pretty cloudy yellow beige beer, lots of chunks floating around under a huge aery off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of citrus, soapy, cleaning product, dusty, sourish, vinegar, cow stable. MF: way too much carbon, light to medium body. Taste: sour, lemony, dirty, bit cheesy, hay, stable. Aftertaste: sourish, dirty, infected. Damn.

3.1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Burnished blonde. Creamy white head deposits wispy lace on the glass. Yeasty aromas lined with perfumey phenols, cotton candy, poundcake, apricot, grass, pepper, lemon, and dusty yeast. Lightly doughy with hints of circus peanuts, as well. Prominent alcohol. Soft flowery hops are negated by a curious twang which partly yields to beefy malt and abundant lemon. Semi-crisp crackery snap takes foothold before a fairly brawny poundcake transition. Nonexsistent hop bitterness fails to deflect the banana puree and vanilla taffy slickness. Finishes cleanly attenuated with banana cream pie and an edgy note of cookie backed with floral hops. I suspect this is on its way downhill due to the tartness and dullness. But without a "bottled-on" date (!!), it’s anyone’s guess. No apparent flaws, but not something I want to drink much of.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Head is initially average sized, frothy/fizzy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers), lightly yeasty (cobwebs, basement), with notes of banana candy, anise, mint, perfume, pepper.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic.
Interesting nose that appears to be spiced with anise and maybe other things but it’s not strong and all kinda works nicely together for the most part. A little bit of a candy-ish demeanor but it’s not in an unpleasant way. Very Belgian as a result...i.e., spiced but not in a way that bludgeons your senses. Too sweet in the mouth for my liking, the sugar just kind of flops on your tongue and hangs around too long. Not syrupy-sticky though. Overall interesting, different, and fun, but I couldn’t drink much.
