2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Fairly thick, beige head. Opaque black, errr synonym maybe? Really odd flavour. Thin Ribena frosting on a weird, mixed-up and unsatisfying Stout. Some choc and ash emerges in the second act, but not to a good level. Doesn’t quite work.

Dark coloured very sweet and rich on the palate. Slightly dry oyster flavoured roast finish.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
A good looking dark beer. Aromas are earthy with berries (probably black!) with roast malts and some floral aspects. Flavours are earthy with blackberries. This was too sweet for me, almost syrupy. Has a decent fruity finish but didn’t do much for me overall.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask conditioned - Gravity - Derby BF. A very dark, almost black beer with a hint of rubiness. the taste is roasty like a good stout but the fruit really comes through. The aroma is a bit of a mish-mash and lets the beer down a bit.
