32oz tall swing top growler, courtesy of markwise, pours with a gold body that has a slight haze and supports a wispy dirty white head. The aroma is pretty full with cloves, sort of pilsner like malts, apricot and wheat notes. Interesting. The taste delivers citrusy tartness with lemon and grapefruit and then it gets into citrus hop flavor. Behind those notes is a wheat sort of hefeweizen feel with cloves and a touch of banana. Again, interesting.

Great appearance, good head retention, great lacing. Light and slightly creamy in the mouthfeel, although a tad thin. Aroma is watery floral and some grassy sweetness. Taste is also floral and grainy/grassy sweetness. Not bad, but thin, even for a session.

My Bottom Line:
Mild caramel and spiciness joins discreet oranges and earthy hops in this ever-so-soft Pale Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the misty amber.
-‘IPA’?! The hops are way too mild.
-Drinkability is high.
-The flavour profile is approachable and refined.
-This is certainly well brewed, but there is nothing to hang onto flavour-wise (like a basic Sam Adams seasonal, for example). So some disappointment is bound to occur with a beer billed as a ‘Session IPA’…

On tap at Cajun Café on the Bayou.

Draft. A dark golden beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of flowery hops, caramel, and honey. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of flowery hops and malt, leading to a dry bitter finish.
