COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In a competitive time trial race, If you select this gear package…You better be a man! (or woman if it fits). But if you can successfully turn it, the rest of the field better watch out! The same holds true with our Imperial Red. Murky, malty, almost plum like color, with a tan head. Little hop bite, but balances well. Hits your mouth with a decadently sweet toffee and toasted nut flavor and then scours it away with citrus and pine hop spiciness. You think you can turn this one?

Red with no head. Smells malty like horse feed. Medium bitterness redeems it a bit. Its ok because its not too sweet.

Clear deep dark red brown pour with a light beige head. Aroma is earthy, tea, and sweet caramel. Taste follows the nose with some additional vegetal notes and toast. Medium body.

Can from Kroger. Dark reddish-brownish-amber with a small off-white head. Fairly weak aroma of caramel, toast, citrus, and earth. The taste is herbal and toasty, fairly bitter, and lightly sweet. Slick, thin, medium bodied and very lightly carbonated.

Can. Pours a hazy deep red/maroon with a shallow, lacy, pitted, off-white fine-grained head. Nose of dark fruit, spice, and a little booziness. Roast nuts and black tea up front, then a mild caramel sweetness kicks in; some hops spiciness, but not much pronounced hops except on the very back of the tongue. Most of the hops are citrus pith and herbal; some pine and spruce, some rosemary, a touch of sage. Finish is ashy and bitter, with earthy notes; no sweetness on the finish. It’s interesting, and it drinks easy, but it looks like it should carry more fruit than it does.

12 oz. can (from Texas Micro 10 pack) served in a tumbler- poured a somewhat transparent brown with maroon tint when held to a light source, very light carbonation to the point where it’s almost flat, liquid sits very still in the vessel. Aroma of cheap booze, resin, and earth. Hits the mouth with a light body, malt was soaked in caramel and alot of it just sits on the palate during the tasting, middle has some heat to it, finish has a light hop burn to it. All over the map with this one- meh ok.

Clear deep Amber with a thin off white cap. Lots of boozy amber malts on the nose with some carabiscut and rich honey and a little citrus bitterness and a bit of bitter leafy fresh hops. Dark caramelly honey flavor with a smooth malty body, with a bitter orange rind balance. As a whole it’s more amber malty and a touch boozy and lacks a bit of hoppy balance but it’s a nice evening sipper.

Draft. Aroma is malty with some hops. Appearance is a bronzy brown with some tan head. Taste starts malty then rolls into hops. Palate is pretty even. Overall, a decent beer, but I most def have had better. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
