COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark lager with a fine and yet significant coffee flavour (coffee extract added). Very popular especially among our female clients.

Tap @ Pivovarský Dum, Prague.
Pours deep mahogany with a medium. creamy, beige head. Fine duration and good lacings. Aroma is so much lovely coffee, some nuts and dark chocolate. Light mouthfeel, rather fresh for the type. Flavour has powerful coffee, some light dark chocolate. Wonderful, long aftertaste. This I could continue drinking...

Draught at the brewpub. Dark copper with medium beige head. Fresh coffee aroma on a solid chocolate malt base. Dry and quite bitter. Very good.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours dakr brown to golden amber with a lacing light tan head. Liqourice and dry coffee aroma. Flavour is yet again slight butterish and with a mix of coffee and liqourice. Goes into a dry coffeish finish.

(Draught) Pours deep reddish brown. The aroma is of coffee and dark bready malt. The flavour is light sweet malty, some coffee and tiny caramelly. The mouthfeel is crisp and light dry. Near medium bitter. Coffee aftertaste. Medium bodied.

Draught. Very deep brownish colour with beige mediumsized head. Aroma is espresso coffee, malts, some hops and also mild notes of chocolate. Flavour is the same. A quite nice balance in the beer.

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2008 Draught @ the brewpub. Average foamy off-white head that mostly lasted. Fair display of lacework. Black color. Aroma of cold roasted coffee, malt and sweet chocolate. Some underlying dried fruity notes and mild dusty floral earthy feel. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation and mild dry texture. Moderated sweet flavor with good counter bitterness. Lingering cold roasted coffee finish. Quite nice.

Draught at Pivovarsky Dum. Huge coffee aroma on a dark lager. Big bold coffee taste with some crema / milky notes. Dark chocolate. Nothing much going on other than the coffee taste. Fades quickly. Watery. Difficult to know where the coffee flavour comes from - roasted malts, real coffee or coffee flavouring. Whatever - it doesn’t really work.

Super fun happy slide! I’ve just been belted over the head with a bucket load of sweet coffee. Much more stronger on the nose but the point is clearly made. Palate is relatively simple with sweeter malts / toffee and I reckon the dunkel might be used as the base beer? Regardless, a good interpretation of the style.

In short: A coffee-infused Tmavý. A good idea but unfortunately boringly simple.
How: Tap at brewpub (Pivovarský Dum, Prague)
The look: Almost black body with a medium tan head
In long: This is like their regular Tmavý that I had 5 minutes before but you add black coffee and some roasted coffee beans flavour and you remove most of the fruity notes and other complexity that the regular Tmavý had. This beer delivers exactly what it promises but it is very boring (both of which are the exact opposite of fellow local ratebeerian Siroy).

Draught at the brewpub. Black body under a beige, foamy head. Light aroma of roasted malt and coffe. Flavour is like a stout: coffe(lighter than i expected), roasted malt, some sweet malt. I expected more
