COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark lager with a fine and yet significant coffee flavour (coffee extract added). Very popular especially among our female clients.

On tap at the brewery, served with coffee beens right in the .5L glass. Pours dark brown with a tall tan head. Very nice fresh coffee aroma and taste. Very smooth like their tmavy with a light roastiness and very nice balance. By far my favorite beer from this brewery.

Draught at Pivovarsky Dum, Praha.
The best Dum beer that I’ve tried. Dark brown coloured with a two coffee beans on top of the firm pale brown head. Strong coffee ice cream nose. Strong roasted malt and coffee aroma. Very smooth with some bitterness in the finish.

Draught, Dum/Prague. Head is initially average sized, creamy/frothy, light brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is moderately to heavily malty (coffee, roasted grain, chocolate, nuts, caramel). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. One of the best coffee beer aromas I have ever encountered in my life. Yeah, the body is a bit thin, but hey, it’s 4%, so one shouldn’t expect thick’n’rich here. It certainly has a nice texture and terrific balance (a lot of coffee beers are too sour, but this isn’t). Would love to see an 8% version of this, but it’s fantastic as-is.

Draught. Black with light brown head. Served with a coffee bean on top. Looks and smells like a porter, sweet and malty. Wow! This is actually quite close to Young’s Double Chocolate. Tastes of coffee, but resembles the bitterness of chocolate quite clearly. Rather low carbonation, but that suits the beer OK.

On tap at Pivovarsky Dum. Oaky brown body with quiet, bubbly head that lasted. Plus on the appearance for the coffee bean in the head. Full coffee flavor with some roast and bitter chocolate. Their best brew.

Tap @ Pivovarský Dum, Prague.
Pours deep mahogany with a medium. creamy, beige head. Fine duration and good lacings. Aroma is so much lovely coffee, some nuts and dark chocolate. Light mouthfeel, rather fresh for the type. Flavour has powerful coffee, some light dark chocolate. Wonderful, long aftertaste. This I could continue drinking...

On-tap. A - Deep brown to black color with ruby hues on the edges. Large beige thick, creamy head. Good retention with a fair amount of lacing left over. S - Strong rich coffee smell is upfront and in charge. In the background there is some roasted malt and a hint of chocolate, but these all definitely take a back seat to the coffee. T - Strong dark roasted coffee taste hits the mouth. The first couple of sips, it is hard to pick up anything else. Then some more roasted malt, slight chocolate, lactose and vanilla come out. There is a slight bitterness to the taste, but when the later flavors grew a bit stronger, it gained a bit sweeter taste that complimented the bitterness. M - Medium body and moderate carbonation. Fairly creamy. D - Pretty good drinkability, but it really depends on how much you are in the mood for coffee flavors. Bitter and sweet are well balanced. Notes: Not a bad beer, but it is somewhat reminiscent of an iced coffee as it is a bit one-dimensional. A pretty good coffee beer that is worth trying though. I had it after dinner and it made a very nice digestif/dessert.

Here’s a tasty one! Very dark brown beer with a thin light-brown head. Lovely coffee aroma with malty caramel and vanilla notes. Flavour is also malty and shows loads of coffee. Very smooth body with a slightly bitter finish. A very tasty brew.

31-12-04 from Pivovarsky Dum. One of my favourire bars I have made three visits to this place in the last couple of years or so. Smashing coffee beer complete with a coffee bean on top, nice coffee aroma and taste very smooth ’this is begining to sound like a nescafe gold blend coffee advertisment’ but regrdless this is very good beer from a great little brewpub.
