Draught at the brewpub: Malty, roasty aroma, sweet and aromatic. Nice creamy, brownish head. Black color, fine carbonation. Intensive malty but few sweetness. Notes of roasted malt and coffee. Fresh, light fruity and a quite astringent, dry finish. Pleasant, aromatic beer.

On tap at The Pivovarsky Dum, Prague, Filtered, 500ml. Dark black with malty head. The beer of the evening in The Dum, full of flavour although dominated by a caramel sweetness with a hint of molasses and a toffee thickness on the tongue. Not overly strong but definitely enjoyable in a great brewpub.

I really enjoyed Pivovarsky Dum -- especially this beer. We weren’t in Prague long, but we managed to visit Pivovarsky Dum twice.

Draught @ Brewpub. More coffee than a lot off other tmavy’s. Slightly sweet caramelly nutty malts. But doesnt follow through on this in the thin finish. Remains quite drinkable.

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2013 Draught at the brewpub. Pours almost black with a nice lasting brownish head. Roasted coffee aroma, caramel, soot, dark bread, dark chocolate, metal notes. Roasted coffee flavor, dark chocolate, soot, some hoppy bitterness. Quite nice. Old rating from 2006: 2.8 Very dark amber, almost black, and with a great lasting brownish head. Malty, burnt aroma with some hops. Quite weak flavor, some hops, but not as much malt as I would have preferred.

Draught at the brewpub. No real aroma. Pitch. Well, a little roast in the nose. Light body, roast, choco, maybe some licorice? Hoppy, medium-dry floral hoppy finish.

Draught at the brew pub. Ordered a 4 liter "giraffe" of this beer.
Dark brown color, beige head. Roasted scent. Chocolate and very roasted taste, no acid at all! Medium body and bitterness.

(Draught at the brewpub in PRague on June 24, 2008)
Shady dark brown color, light brown head. Coffee and roasted dry scent. Roasted and sweet taste. Butterscotch aftertaste. Moussy mouthfeel, low to medium bitterness.

Tap @ Brewpub. Light, mild roasted aroma, some chocolate. In appearance brown with some ruby character, creamy tan head. Full bodied. Milky creamy with roasted coffee like aftertaste. Smooth, creamy finish. Decent dunkel.

(Tap) Pours dark with beige head. Interesting mix of malts create a roasted chocolate flavor. Smooth mouthfeel, and great balance. Only complaint would be the low level of carbonation, but that seemed to be the theme of the night at Pivovarsky Dum.

[on tap at brewpub] Opaque dark reddish black with lasting, tan foam. Nice toasty malt aroma with well-balanced Saaz hops. Smooth toasty lager flavour with an ascertive but well balanced bitterness and hops flavour. Less sweet than other Tmavys I’ve tried. Light body, lingering bitterness that may be from the dark malt.
