500ml can. Cola brown colour, clear. Small beige cap. Nose has caramel, mild dark chocolate notes. Taste has roasted notes, dark chocolate and caramel. Some roasted bitterness at the end. Decent mouthfeel, a touch more body than expected. Enjoyable.

500ml can pours almost black in color with a finger of white head that leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is roasted grains and grass. Taste is a roasted grain and grassy bitterness with a mild chocolate malty sweetness. A pretty decent dark lager.

500ml can. Marketed as Dark as opposed to Dunkel. Pours liek cola with a relatively fast-dissipating head. Smell is realatively nutty, mild roast, slight hops. Flavor is light for a dunkel, it has a tartness, hint of cardboard, nuts, lgiht roast, light fruit, some medicinal off flavor. Jsut not a great dunkel but it was only like 4$ a 6 pack so w/e i guess.

Dark coffee-black with foamy ugly white head. Lactic, cream aroma of grain and dark malt. Creamy body with some darker caramel malt notes, a bit richer than a normal DAB or lager. Sour-bitter finish, coating feel. Alright, something different, but flavors aren’t a standout. 5, 3, 6, 2, 11

330ml can. Easy to drink, maybe a bit watered down. Pours dark copper, hazy, with some tan head, vanishing and no lacing. Taste is malty and sweet. Light body and average carbonation.

Bottle- Beer has a dark bronze appearance with a good foamy head. Has a nice light aroma nothing distinct. The taste is light and crisp. It has light carbonation with a slight malt aftertaste but still refreshing. This is an enjoyable beer when having more than 1-2.

12 oz bottle. Poured clear brown with a fizzy tan head. Smelled of coffee and grain. Tasted of burnt chocolate, roasted coffee, and cereal grain. Nicely bittered. thin watery body. Malty aftertaste. Pretty good beer.

Now this is a refreshing and tasty dunkel. Aroma was so so. Chocolate malt and burnt bread. Pour was a nice deep dark brown (almost black) with a one finger off white head. Taste was delicious. Roasted/burnt malt in the front with a bitter coffee aftertaste that stays on the back of the throat. Great carbonation that carries the flavor rather than overpowering it. Didn’t like their regular lager so I wasn’t expecting much. Glad I tried it.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2007 Didn’t care much for the regular DAB. This is darker but not really dark. No head. Has a sweeter aroma, it’s a little malty. Seems to be pretty strong in the alky smell. Also some wet burned wood in there too. Taste is a little bitter but I think this is better in flavor than the original DAB. Interesting offense on the back center palate. Yes, is a darker lager flavor, something like an American dark lager. On par with Alambra Negra and Nova Paka Granat. I’ve tasted better dunkels like Becks dark and Weltenburger. Mild bland rear aluminum tooth taste. OK for a dark beer. Probably would not purchase again considering the other offerings out there. Overall, nice to have had a chance to try this.
