Inoffensive but forgettable Dortmunder. Poured a pale straw colour with a thin head. Sweet, hoppy nose. Medium-bodied. Flavours are more subtle than the nose might suggest. Hints of honey in a sweetish middle. Some bitterness in the finish. Reasonable summer drinking. (Bottle)

Quite hoppy for an Export. Also, not much of a malty sweetness. Spicy, though. Well done Export.

Deep gold color; light hop nose; decent body with a good dose of both hops and malts in the flavor;good balance. Finishes initially sweet, but some nice hop bitterness emerges late.

Quite a sweet malty aroma and cracker like from the pils malt. Light gold color with a loose head providing excellent lacing. Sweet malts dominate the flavor but are well balanced with soft hop notes. Sweetness lingers rather then any bitterness. Medium body and carbonation, somewhat creamy but otherwise very easy drinking.

can: Disappointing example of style. Starts malty, has that dortmunder aroma, amazing lacing on glass but then goes sour on the finish. Grab a Headstrong Munich Lager from these parts any day, or Svtury’s Ekstra and then you are set, yeehaw!

A fairly average german beer. Not much flavour or colour. Very smooth and easy to drink.

Mini-Keg. Very subtle aroma and a very different taste. This had a frothy head of foam and a thick body. Tasted like a pilsener with a lot of crystal malt.

Low noble hop aroma, either Saaz, Hallertauer, Spalt, or Tettnanger. Moderate malt and slight sulfur. Light gold in color very clear. Balance is key to the malt hop balance Hard carbonate water helps bitterness, nothing dominates slight mineral from water. Gordon Biersch makes a good example of this
