(Rating #254)

I’m disapointed. Not teriable, but when I have to go to the LC {liquor comision} for a beer, I expect it to be special. Pours a realy pale sunshine yellow, Tall whispy head, large bubbled, condences into a small white mass of foam that lasts half the pint. Medium lacings, medium high carbonation sits in a velvet body, not realy as sharp a mouthfeel as one desires in a pale lager. Aroma is of sweet corn, water lauged grain seller, some mild malt and just the tiniest hidden hint of hop. Taste is domonant metalic hit, quickly fades to a very mild in flavour sour maltyness with hints of flavourless yet bitter hop, under notes of sweet malt, sticky, cola, mineral and hint of unactive yeast. Afer taste is mostly metalic, with a dry middle and a velvet sweet finish. Not my idea of a good beer. Just a variation on the blond swill forced down our throats with unique touches that dont help at all. Cheers

Bottle. Poured a clear slightly amber bright light yellow, Decent rocky, foamy head, minimal lace. Aroma pretty weak, I get some damp grain (corn? silage?), a little malt, no hops, touch of artificial sweetness, maybe a hint of apple cider. Taste starts with a harsh metallic bang, then some sour graininess, then sickly sweetish malt with some brackishness. Astringent and metallic/mineral in the mouth, not awful, but the aftertaste, what there is, is also brackish. Tastes very much the product of a huge brewery force-brewing vast quantities of BADMB (basic alcohol delivery mechanism beverage). I’ve had worse and it does go down really easy, but unless I’m in Dortmund and can get this on tap, I won’t have it again.

Golden yellow, moderate head, no real lace. Corn syrup aroma, bready yeast, but no hoppy notes at all. No hops on the palate either-- just sweet corny malt. I found this very disappointing, but not terrible.

pours a perfect golden, nice white head that doesn’t stick around, smell was good mild skunkyness, malts and hops mostly, taste was good with some bitterness & dryness at the end, smooth, good body a nice beer all around, nothing to outstanding, drinkable.

Poured golden and clear from a 12 oz. bottle, no lasting head, but decent lacing. Only a hint of skunkiness, although I could also smell the malt & hops. Good balance of malt flavor along with the bitter hops. I’ve always been struck by this beer’s nice carbonation, it adds crispness to this beer. I recommend this beer.

Bought a min keg of this for the super bowl 05. Wasn’t as good as the warsteiner, because it’s dry, bitter finish was a bit overwhelming for this style of beer.

Pleasantly surprised, for the price not a bad lager. Better than some ’pilseners’ costing way more
