A trivial point but my can said 5% ABV. Pale gold clear under a small short lasting creamy white head. Brief faint fruit and light sappy hops aroma with a touch of plasticene aroma. Was well within use by date but the overall impression was of a somewhat stale beer. Medium light body. Ordinary medium short sharp mild bitter flavoured start fading to a slightly sweeter middle and a more chemically bitter finish and aftertaste.

Clean golden color with a very foamy looking white head. Malt and vegetative aromas dominate the nose. Rather grassy tasting with a hint of malt sweetness as well.

rauchbier (3620) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - AUG 1, 2002
Straw gold, low head and good condition, Slightly skunky initial aroma followed by malt. Dry and malty body with just enough hop bitterness to get rid of the sweetnes but not enough to make it worth drinking more of.

A very enjoyable pilsner, my taste buds where pleased, my brother really eats this stuff up. The Germans are good beer makers and stand proud at the brewery. There porno is fudgeing nuts to. Whereas other Germans try to kill people. What a wonderful day in age we live in. Salute…

(5L keg) Is this really a pilsener? I detected little if any hops and the dominating flavour was honey/mead. I can only suspect that the beer I was actually drinking was in fact DAB Export (however the keg was labelled DAB original). Otherwise, it’s actually a decnt beer - very pleasent mouthfeel and distinctively German despite its sweetness.
