1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
UPDATED: SEP 27, 2004 Very pales straw color. Massive carbonation leads to an initially thick and foamy head. Unfortunately, it is entirely diminishing. Mild aroma of hay and grain. Somewhat watery. There's just too little goin on in the flavor department. Some hops in the finish with no malt backbone. Almost completely lacking in character.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Can. Pours a golden colour with large frothy head. Little lacing though. Aroma is hops and slightly skuny. Taste is malty with a little spice. Finish is bubbly and bland. Dortmund has much better beers than this "original" example.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
(Bottle) Pours a thin and quick dissipating white head. Nice amber body with lively carbonation. Hoppy nose with malt undertones. The initial carbonated and hop taste makes a transition to a citrus, malt flavour mid-palate then finishes somewhat watery. Average.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Golden colour, few bubbly head. typical hoppy aroma. The taste is quite malty and too much bitter in the aftertaste (bad quality hops?). Anyway drinkable, but nothing special...

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tastes like your average American brew. Pale yellow with very little aroma. Light and watery with little taste. It's quite refreshing, but so is water.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bright yellow in appearance with little head, some bubbles. Hops come through alright in aroma, but the taste just isn't there folks. For all those people who think Heineken and Grolsh are good imports. Bland pils.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JUN 5, 2003 Update: Bought a fresh bottle of this. Exhibits good Dortmunder maltiness, but ends up reminding me of an inferior Victory Lager.
Draft. Depressing appearance--no head, little bubbling. The nose had little to recommend it. The flavor was not bad however: some flowery notes blended with some very light fruity ones and played nicely with the solid palate.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Golden colour. Pours with no head. Nice hop, malt aroma but that doesn't carry through the taste. A run-of-the-mill pilsner.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sweet malty bits and a fair bit of flattish hops...OK. Good mouthfeel. In the words of a famous American, nothing more needs said.
