2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 maeib (6634) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - FEB 16, 2007
Bottled. An orangey gold coloured beer with a nice white head. The aroma is grassy hop but is too lager snatchy for my liking. The taste is grassy again with buttery creamy notes. Quite thin and characterless. Disappointing.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 leaparsons (6324) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAY 23, 2005
Golden with a white bubbly head. Aromas are metallic hops, lemon and pepper. Flavours are dry, bitter green hops on a sweet malt and lemon base. Not bad for a £2.79 four pack.
1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 Sammy (6120) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 15, 2005
A decent pilsener, creamy, straw yellow and lots of white foamy head, yet lacking aroma and thin mouthfeel. Grassy, crisp Dry taste, bitterness on backbone, highly carbonated, above average malting,
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 BeerandBlues2 (6096) - Lone Tree, Colorado, USA - MAY 3, 2010
Bottle. Pours dark yellow with a spare, fizzy white head, mostly diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (grain, hay), average hops (celery), average yeast, and notes of cooked corn - DMS. Light bodied, slick texture, average carbonation. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.
1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 Emil (6070) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 2, 2004
Golden color, light hoppy aroma and taste, light body, light watery finish.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 DocLock (5970) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 16, 2004
Pours gold with a white head. Aroma of malt, corn, and some citrus. Tastes light on the palate, with some malt, corn, slight hops. Just OK as far as I’m concerned. To me, foreign pilsners have nothing on the current crop of American ones.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Rastacouere (5920) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 16, 2003
Clear golden robe, generous white head with a decent stickiness, but short-lasting leaving just a film. Herbal and bready aroma, very malty with notes of hops (saaz?). Light bodied, sweet grassy taste and a decent bitter dry finish. I'd give it better notes wouldn't it be of the unpleasant DMS character.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Fin (5749) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 7, 2006
Picked up in Morrisons Banbury recently. Pale golden in colour, white foamy head. Yeasty, malty aroma, which then moved to a very crisp and refreshing tasting beer although hardly exciting and a bit safe, which is fine if you want to drink a reasonable beer without having to think much about it.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 DonMagi (5599) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 19, 2005
This may be the highest scoring pilsner/lager iv ever rated, and suprizingly so aswell. I recon cans are far better for lager these days, as with mayeb some ales aswell. Aroma is grassy hops though minimal and the corny malt is still there. Taste is not bad with nothing annoying me at all, however a bit of nothing compaired with the sam smiths stuff iv had tonite.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 jerc (5591) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 29, 2007
Can. LCBO Crisp yellow body with a small fluffy white head. Muted hops in the aroma with light floral notes, hay, minute touch of yeast. Lightly sweet flavour of pale malt with very light bitter finish. Saaz? Average to thin palate. 5/3/4-5/2-3/9-10 - 2.3
<P>April 2001 - Mediocre German lager. Very disappointing. Not nearly enough hops or malt for that matter. 3/3/4/2/9 - 2.1 (I had this entered under DAB Pilsener but I am fairly certain it was the Original so I moved it here.)
