Beany, skunky hop aroma. Weak sweetness, no maltiness, and slightly metallic. Pale yellow sparkling body with foamy white lacing head. Light watery body with light-medium carbonation. Taste is light sweet to start, watery. Bit of acidity and light hoppiness toward the finish. After has a light bitter and is pretty clean. Overall, better suited as a quick chug after work, not a good session beer.

When I opened the bottle there was an aroma that you couldn't miss. Not a bad smell -just an unusual one. Once this went away what was left was a dry run of the mill pils.

One of the worst German pilseners that I have had. Watery and grainy in the appearance. The flavor is like drinking sea salt. Very bland and boring.

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2005 Watery. Some juicy malts, a little stale floral hop character. No aftertaste.

On tap at Sunset Grill: Clear yellow with no head. Light flowery aroma, watery mouth feel. Ends boring and eh.

This one qualifies as the worst of the many german brews i have sampled. It had a salty taste and the color was quite a turn off. i try to avoid it now.

dortmunder (961) - Herdecke, GERMANY - OCT 30, 2003
UPDATED: JAN 19, 2004 For a green bottle, the skunkiness was acceptable. Body is a bit watery. Actually is tastes like a hopbitter lager. Re-rate: Had it from tap and subtracting the skunkiness the beer is actually a pretty decent, though watery, Pilsener.

Tasted in Toronto from LCBO. Golden colour, clear, strong carbonation with a white sustained head. Slightly sour / tangy aroma. Flavour is sweet - very little hop presence but sweet malty start and finish.

Good colour and nice head yet the beer is quite disappointing. Strange chemical taste leaves the drinker unsatisfied.
