Malty and kinda sweet with notes of metal, bread and alcohol. Quack-Duck (3129), Bodensee/Schwarzwald, Germany May 27, 2007 looks great: golden yellow with large and consistent head. Starts malty but gets more hoppy and dry towards the finish. rlgk (3377), Vĺrgĺrda, Sweden Jul 21, 2006 Golden with a quite lousy white head. Hoppy aroma, malty and hoppy flavor. A bit one dimensional and not that good. pivnizub (4951), Bochum, Porúří, Germany Jul 4, 2006 Updated: Aug 8, 2009Bottle: Deep golden coloured, lively carbonation, small fluffy head; sweet malty nose with a big touch of floral hops; robust malty body supporting the quite heavy aromatic bitter flavour, soft MF; aromatic hoppy and sweetish finish. A very good Bohemian Pilsener, very well balanced.............
Re-rate 08/09 7/4/7/4/16 the draught version at the Pivovarsky Klub. Almost perfect..............
beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Sep 1, 2005 Clear golden color with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet and malty. The flavor is sweet with malt character. The palate is light and creamy with lively carbonation. MartinT (5030), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 28, 2005 The Lure: Lofty foam from the bottle settling onto a rich fruit salad. Citrus hops play along with the straw and sweet yeast. Smells like quality malt extraction.
The Festivities: Flowery honey notes and hay maltiness evolve into candied softness. A low carbonation and a peaceful flavor interplay create a comfortable mouthfeel. Adequately sustaining.
Transcendence: A proud knight on his choice steed. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 18, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Well, with a beer of this name I don’t blame the Swedish importers (TomelillaBryggar’n i Malmř AB) for renaming it: "Kärnans Guld". Very dark golden, very full-bodied with a rather unusual burned edge, odd for a pilsener. But nice indeed - naturally.
