Originally released in 2012, Dank is BACK after a tiny run-in with "the man." Packed with over FOUR pounds of resinous west coast Cannabaceae Humulus Lupulus (Hops). This heavily dry-hopped craft IPA is balanced with smooth caramel maltiness reminiscent of Old School IPAs.

16oz Can. The pour was a hazy reddish orange with an average (1-2 finger) off white frothy head that was mostly lasting, reducing to a thin cap with good sheets of streaky lacing. The aroma was of a light biscuit malt, pine hops and a moldy yeast with notes of caramel, citrus (grapefruit and orange peel) and a light fruity ester. The taste was mildly malty and a tad sweet with a hint of caramel and a slight fruitiness early on, and then become moderately hoppy with shot of grapefruit and a bitter citrus peel finish. The flavor hung on for a good long time proceeding the swallow with a bitter citrus peel taste left lying on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was just past light in body and extremely dry in texture with a carbonation that was just past medium. Overall this was a very tasty IPA, with a strong bitter hoppy presence that was offset nicely by a mild fruity sweetness...

had this on tap pours medium amber. cutting bitterness, resin. as it warms the satisfaction diminishes. Off flavors or cardboard and glue develop. did not finish this pint.

Can (pounder) from liquor store near hotel. Medium golden with small creamy head. Initial musty, funky bitter aroma, fades into taste where some sweet malt comes through. Interesting combo of funky hop aroma and sweet malt flavor.

16oz can - pours a semi cloudy copper color with a fluffy off white head. The aroma is mostly pine resin, some sweet citrus and caramel. The flavors are mostly the same - a lot of pine resin, hints of citrus and grass, weird malt kinda like cardboard. The hop bouquet is not my favorite.

had just got back to our hotel, gabf in denver, saturday night, late, and as we were waiting for the elevator a small group of tipsy older people walked up and starting chatting. I ended up with a 16 oz. CaN and an invite to "party" with them later. I skipped the old person orgy and slammed this CaN in my room. Grass mostly, some mild dankness but not very deep. Good for a quick pint but i didn’t honestly enjoy this that much, but it was late so.. . . Sure it’s not 1985 right now, but who KNOWS what tomorrow will bring!?

Can to tulip. Pours hazy gold, white head. Aroma of fig, corn, grass, orange, wheat. Taste of the same. Not dank. Semi-metallic. Finish is orange juice, wood and slight dank.

Other descriptions I read made this sound appealing. However the overwhelming taste for me was metallic. Tasted from a 16 oz. can into a pint glass. Same metallic overtones immediately and after letting it sit for a bit. Doesn’t taste skunked, but very unappealing. I would never buy this again.

I think the description pretty much nails it. Heavy handed on the hops shows, and has a sort of creamy malt mouth feel to it. I prefer it a little crisper at this ABV, but this is how they’re barking it, so I can’t complain. It is what is says and I kinda like it. Another reviewer mentioned keeping it cold. I second this. Drink fast.

Can. Deep orange. Nose is sweet caramel malts, some orange and green, dank hops. Quite malty and sweetness gets out of hand as it warms. ’Dank’ but not overly so.

gold pour aroma old school grassy skunky hops. Tastes cheesy, pine, grassy hops. not all that bitter. takes the ipa back a good twenty years or so. not a good thing in my book. Buttery palate is nice though.

Thanks wchesser for throwing this one in. In reading some of the reviews, glad I did not get an infected on. Lots of orange sweetness, light tropical/pineapple, some pine. Medium high sweet malt backing. Good.
