Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours a dark brownish-amber color with a medium thin beige head that recedes steadily. Rings of lacing. Aroma of toasted malt and mild hops. Medium body with flavors of sweet roasted malt, nuts and hops. The finish is roasty with a lingering malt and coffee aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap at brewpub. Clear dark brown and ruby highlights with a small but tight head, good lacing. Smells wonderfully of chocolate cereal and a whiff of fresh coffee, perhaps a touch of smoke. Smooth flavor, starts chocolaty but gets grainy and toffee like, finishes with a bit of coffee and toasted brown malts. Decent, not amazing.
