Ungstrup (11338), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 29, 2006 [At RBESG 2006] An orange beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet malty with light orange notes. The flavor is sweet malty, leading to a dry end. KnutAlbert (2312), Oslo, Norway Apr 23, 2006 Smells like a Dahls beer, so there is no doubt about the yeast. Full malt taste and a little hops, but not enough bitterness to make this really good!
(This rating may be slightly high for nostalgic reasons!) Papsoe (10230), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 17, 2006 (Bottle 33 cl) Clear, fully golden with an off-white head. Lovely hop aromatic nose. Medium-bodied with plenty of malt, some cardboardish notes and some dry, bitter hops. Some alcohol in the finish. 150906 Beer_2000 (1266), Kristiansand, Norway Oct 4, 2006 Bottle 330 ml. Pale golden body with a thick creamy off-white head. Rather nice, malty aroma to be a pilsner. Flavor is relatively sweet, some caramel and a moderate bitterness in the aftertaste. Actually a bit harsh after a few glasses. Not to bad anyway compared to the big big ocean of lagers we cope with here in Norway. larsga (2293), Oslo, Norway Jul 30, 2006 Huge offwhite head that’s creamy on top and coarse further down. Deep greenish yellow body with ongoing carbonation. Faint sweetish aroma of hay and grass. Taste is sweetish malts with notes of apple and butter, with a buttery, oily mouthfeel. Roasty caramel notes, too. Some bitterness throughout. Dry, metallic, roasty aftertaste with vague hop notes. Burnt taste lingers. It’s not really bad, but I can’t really say I like it, either. (0.33l bottle.)
