2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Fra flaske (best før økt-13) på Cardinaltreff okt-13: juleøl smaker ofte best når det nærmer seg et år etter lansering, men ikke dette. Ok og typeriktig for norske juleølvvaner, men allikevel kjedelige saker.

0,33 l bottle. 1 finger off white. Dark fruits and maltyness. Same with taste. My bottle is old. Going out in 2 months so that prob explains the bad balance in this beer

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at home. Pours a deep golden reddish brown colour with a medium beige head. Sweet aromas of dades, oak, some cinnamon, roasted almonds and brown sugar. Pretty nice and pleasant. Less sweet flavour with leather, dried fruit and some licorice. It’s a bit dry in the end. Has a slick mouthfeel, and a light to medium bitterness. A good and balanced beer which is great with Christmas food.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A fine norwegian style christmas beer, with parallels to Borg Bokkøl. Dark brown-red, a small head, and nice christmas touches of caramel, dark kinds of malts and coffee. Nice!

Light brown caramel colour with a tan head. Just a sweet caramel aroma. Unusual light christmasbrew. Lots of alcohol, light flavor......

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
In the style of the typical Norwegian Christmas beer. It’s not challenging at all, not even that interesting, and I find it a bit boring. A good beer, but not memorable.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Somewhat lighter brown colour than most christmas beers, with a noticeable red hue. The head is rather big, but collapses quickly and whoosh, it’s gone. The taste is sweet malty, very organic with overripe dark fruits and some caramel. Moderate sweet and light bitter taste. The label claims the beer is vinous, and I have to agree: there are lots of alcohol here. Unfortunately the alcohol doesn’t bring much more into this beer than a taste of alcohol, it doesn’t release lots of other flavours and the mouthfeel isn’t that great. There is also some faint metallic hints. Not too bad, but not that great either.
