3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
0,33 l bottle from Vinmonpolet. 2015 edition. Aroma is malty, carameli, with hints of brown sugar and bread. The taste is sweet, malty, raisin and some alcohol. Juleøl (christmasbeers) is not my favourite kind, but of thoose from the bigger Norwegian breweries I think this is one of the better ones. Recommended for christmasbeers.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
33cl bottle from Vinmonpolet Linderud, Oslo. Pours clear dark brown to copper coloures, with almost no head. Intense and dominating caramel aroma with some notes of dried fruits and alcohol. Very sweet and very caramellly, far from balanced and far from nice in my book. Carbonation is on the soft side and it feels like sticky caramel water in the mouth. No thanks!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12/25/2006 Bottle at Christmas in Oslo. A nice Vienna which smells a lot like red wine. It has a caramel and syrupy taste. My brother in law tasted 18 Juleols this season and said Dahls came out on tops. I think the Frydenland is also quite good.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
6.5% clear 330ml bottle. Purchased@Vinmonopolet, 2014-January.
Head with some red-brown notes in the beige foam.
Brown-red body, clear. Scents mild roasted malts, wood, lingonberries.
Tastes chocolate malts, syrup, grains, hops, caramels, hapå, hints of lingonberries.
Something that reminds me of small christmas cookies.
Nice to palate, alright bodied. Mild ending where chocolate tunes are fading out.
Overall seems to be a quality yuletide beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
(Brewed October 2007. Alcohol: 6.3%)
Appearance: Dark brown towards red-brown. Light beige head.
Nose: Nice smell of caramel, and hops.
Taste & palate: Semi creamy texture from the quite rich, small bubbles carbonation. Medium body with a hops / bitterness backbone. The sweetness seems to be partly consumed by ageing and partly equalled out by the hops, leaving an almost dry impression. Medium body. Medium long to long aftertaste. A structured Christmas beer, keeping up quite well after 6 years.
