330 ml can. As Đại Việt Super. From Malaysia.
Dark almost black colour with small light tan head.
Mildish aroma of blackcurrant, liquorice and some toasted malt.
Flavour is liquorice, malt, salt, raisins and nuts. Very pleasant surprise.
Moderate carbonation. I could drink a couple more of these.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20 jgb9348 (3494) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JUL 14, 2011
Deep cola coloured body with a thin and relatively fast-dying tan head - strong brownish appearance that shows nicely. Aroma of earth, nuts, candies, grapes, cola and a few more interesting notes - much stronger and pleasant that most Vietnamese beers. Light-bodied; Assertive malty flavour with cereal, malt, grain, alcohol, metal and some other bitterness soon following. Aftertaste shows the metal right up front with a pungent kick of minerals, a touch of coffee and roasty malt and a finish of earth and a handful of change. Overall, an interesting Vietnamese beer, kind of an oxymoron, but if I sampled this after 20 pale lagers and had 20 of them to follow, this would easily be the standout beer. But, as I’m drinking this back at home on the other side of the world - this isn’t so great. I sampled this 330 mL can purchased at FiviMart in Hanoi, Vietnam on 18-August-2010 sampled back home on the other side of the world in Washington on 14-July-2011.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Papsoe (22987) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 15, 2010
Can 33 cl. Courtesy of my cousin Martin. Pours a clear dark amber with an off-white head. Strange aroma of industrial glue -WFF?? Medium body, some oxidized roastiness, burned caramel and pumpernickel. A little late licorice in the finish, but hardly any hops. Definitely better drinking than smelling. 151010

Canned. Clear nut brown, rich head. Roasty bready nose. Medium bodied with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Bready/toasty and lightly fruity. Fairly low bitterness. Decent dunkel!
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Beershine (4718) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - NOV 26, 2009
Can. Ugly amber brown with no head retention. Aroma is bland, brassy, with some chocolate candy in the finish (not real chocolate, like Wal*Mart chocolate). Some nuts. Smells like a candy bar. Palate is thin, fizzy, but not bad. Flavors are fine, as is dry with cocoa and burnt coffee. Not bad but below average.

Light golden-brown. Thin head. Aroma is mostly toasty. The body is a bit thin. The flavour is mainly toast. Not all that interesting, but good to see a macrobrewed Den.
