(330ml bottle) Courtesy of Shimpei. Many thanks bud! Pours a quick dissipating, white head atop a cloudy yellow body. Nose of dry wheat, bruised bananas and clove. Very light and fruity. White wine, vanilla, coriander and a good base of yeast. Very nice and quaffable!

Botella bought in Hiroshima. Bit hazy pale golden colour with a nice medium white head. Pleasant bit sweet aroma of wheat, fruit, some yeast. Good mouthfeel. Pleasant bit sweet flavour of wheat, fruit, some spice, yeast and citrus. Tasty wheat brew indeed.

Draught at Golden Garden in Hiroshima.
Sweet but not cloying, with rich wheat malt. Quite estery, with no sour edge at all. Very drinkable and rich. Nicely done.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 AvidDirtman (25) - , JAPAN - JUL 12, 2008
Yellow cloudiness. Sour aroma. Seems wheatier this year (2008). Good balance with the fizz, zero head but plenty of soapy suds on the sides of the glass. Is trying to be Hoegaarden and has a damn fine go, but doesn’t quite cut the mustard. Herby (coriander as expected) and all the other things you find in that delectable belgium tipple, but without the panache.

Bottled, big thanks to Dirtman. Pale witbier murk, fine snowy froth, persistent collar. Aroma peppery coriander, banoffee pie, orange peel, clove...halfway between Belgium and Bavaria. Milky and peppery in the mouth, with more of the coriander and curacao treatment than the fat esteriness of a weizen. Rounded, slick and authentic spiced wheat beer. Tottori Hoegaarden?

Tasted @ GJBF Yokohama: Hazy blonde, thick white head, light lacing. Nose of bright citrus and light wheat. Some chewy sweet wheat, nice finish.

Average wheat beer drunk in Ushi-Tora from draft. After Popeye I still had here 10 more beers from draft This one is just an average beer
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Capa (1633) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 20, 2007
@ GJBF 2007. I’m suprised my notes are as extensive (and legible) as they are this far into the festival... Hazy hay in color. Like many Japanese Weizens the banana aroma is fairly strong, but unlike many others it’s not nearly as sweet, which is nice. Yeast, and cloves round it out. Medium to full body, smooth, but spicy. Flavor was spices, yeast, cloves, fruity, banana, and a nicely spiced finish. Found this to be an very good weizen
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 TimE (2068) - Tokyo, JAPAN - SEP 19, 2007
This beer didn’t hit any new territory and perhaps was a bit smokier than usual, but was an excellent example of an estery weizen with lots of bananas and cloves. All beneath a thick white creamy head.
