330 ml bottle brought over by Mari and Steven, thanks guys! A really nice presentation. Pours a very cloudy and bright orange color with a medium white head. A sweet nose of honey, rich sweet malts and lots of grain. The flavor is very nice; fruity, rich dry wheat, earthy, caramel, sweet candies. A nice grainy brew, warm and inviting. Certainly not a barley wine, a wheat wine to the core. A nice creamy palate.

Sweet naval oranges and a definite tang like presence on first whiff. Very soft for such a big beer. This gives it a lovely soft touch missing from most beers of this style. Very rounded, smooth and well integrated - Wheat, oranges, lemon zest and a soft bitter finish. Very enjoyable. Good long, lingering aftertaste. Rich, slightly creamy, palate. Another well made big beer from the mountain men.

Bottle at the brewpub on my Japanese stag. Wine gum, juniper and botanicals aroma. Misted brass looks, half hazy, with a fine white top. Good herbal hop and lime zest aroma. Clean and fresh with a botanical hop bitterness, silky orange, peppery booze. Some marzipan and wood resin in the finish. Deep, hugely drinkable, dangerous stuff.

Draught at Beer Belly. Spicy, firy aroma. Flavors of pear, banana, clove. Good hops--with a dry, bitter finish. Not like a wheat bock. Very hoppy, fruit, and spicy. Excellent. Creamy, wine-like, with dark fruits galore. Just kept getting better as it warmed.

Draught at Ushi-Tora, Tokyo. Hazy golden, minimal head. Vanilla, banana and grains in a careful aroma. Clean on the surface, but with depth underneath. Alcohol mingles with vanilla, herbal spices and orange, restrained sweetness. All the time it remains careful and unintrusive, elegant and cool.
