3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 thebeertourist (4060) - Oslo, - APR 11, 2008
On tap at Cardinal Pub, Stavanger. Sark brown colour with a small yellowish head. Quite special aroma-like burnt caramel, bread and chocolate all coming together. Wonderful. Chocolate, flowery bitterness as well as bready flavours. A bit watery. Very good, and with slightly more body it would have been excellent.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of hops, grass, and grapefruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw and grapefruit. The body is light. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Small white head. Pale coppery body. Fruity resiny aroma with wet wool notes. Dryish wooden resiny taste. Thin body. Watery. No real aftertaste. Probably too old. Need to rerate. (0.5l bottle from tarjei via OleR.)

500 ml bottle, 2008 easter seasonal, enjoyed@GrOve’s. A tiny ring of foam upon a slightly hazed, deep golden colored body. Limited, but pleasant aroma of fruity hops, tangerines and ripe oranges. Some yeast notes and a whiff of dryish pale malts. Not very flavorful; some dry malts and a faint fruitiness. Barely noticable hop bitterness. Light-bodied. Crisp mouthfeel. Quite quenching, quite decent.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Gr0ve (1875) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 21, 2009
500 ml bottle. Slightly hazy deep golden colour. Small off-white head. Fruity hop aroma. Orange peel. The American hops are quite obvious. Slightly oxidized. Interesting fruity flavours. Nice malty flavours. Some wheat. Dry flavours, especially in the finish. Might be a little over the top, but this is quite a nice beer.

Bottle, 4.7%. Weak citric aroma. Cloudy dark yellow colour, some sediment. The flavour is citric with a slightly rough and grassy hoppiness. OK refreshing, but could use more malt or body.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden body with some floaties and a small, lasting off-white head. Nice lacings. Quite hoppy nose with a malty sweetness to support it, but not enough malty to make it feel balanced. Citrusy hoppyness in the flavor too, with malty sweetness in the background. Decent bitterness, but a bit short finish. Medium body and nice level of carbonation. Really refreshing and easy drinkable. Easily the best I’ve had from Dalane so far. (080721)
