Medium body with light malt accents but otherwise completely dominated by a distinct citrusy tartness that indicates an infection. 030608 yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jun 8, 2008 50 cL bottle. Golden with a weak head. the aroma is rather thin with light notes of malt and grain. The flavour has sweetness, light notes of straw, malt and grain. It has a light dryness, and it’s more dry than it really is bitter. yngwie (3602), Kristiansand, Norway Apr 5, 2008 Bottle. Pours a sparkling, clear golden body with a decent white head. There’s some sediments forming very small floaties too. The aroma is on the malty side with a distinct grainy scent, but has a nice hoppyness to balance it. It actually feels more balanced than the aroma. The grainyness is more evident in the flavor, but they have used enough hops to give it a fruity, bitter flavor too. Medium, almost sticky-sweet in the mouth, finishing with fruityness and bitterness. The regular Norwegian pilsner-drinker would probably argue that there shouldn’t be sediments clouding his beer, but if poured carefully that shouldn’t be a problem at all. Anyway, as it sure isn’t a discount beer, I don’t think that should ever be an issue. The brewery says it is a quenching beer, and they are right. One of the best pilsners available in Norway, for sure. (080405)
