Cask gravity at The Haywain, Bramling. Beautiful chestnut brown colour with lasting beige head. Dry malt aroma. It’s pretty good. Lovely dry, fruity bitter with some pepper hop on finish. Excellent in fact. A bit like an ESB but only at 3.4%. Really good tasty light ABV bitter.

Cask in the Market Porter. Alround rating: Toffee brown ale like malts, grassy hop is minimal its all opn the sweetside, lacking condition and hints of mildue coming through as it warms.

Cask, at the Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks 12-10-09 Pours copper in fact I’d suggest maybe a touch darker edging towards horse chestnut (conker) maybe, with an off white head. Plenty of sticky toffee in the mouth, its malty with caramel, not bad. A7 A4 F6 P3 Ov13 3.3

Autumn special in the Express by Kew Bridge. Pours a deep coppery brown with a fine head. Aromas of chocolate, malt, fresh earth and fainter hops. Palate is dry, bitter-sweet, nutty and thirst-quenching, with a lingering dry and bitter finish.

Cask conditioned at The Daleside beer tent at York Food Festival. Brown to copper with white head. Sweet malty bitter with plenty of caramel, chocolate notes, but just too sweet for me. Reasonable enough though.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Dark amber with a small off white head. Sweet malt aroma and taste, with just a little sour fruit nicely balancing the caramel and chocolate. Some bitterness. This went down particularly well on a warm, sunny autumn day. Only 3.4%: I could have sipped this all afternoon.
