Bottle. Clear dark toffee with a good coat of beige head. Very fruity aroma with some cocoa and toffee, nutty Sherry. Slightly oily body. Sweet dried fruit and toffee, dry woody finish. First few sips I was thinking around 2.5 but this really grew on me as I drank it. Gets no favours from being bottled.

Bottle. Chestnut with a fine beige skim. Aroma a bit Old Peculier; varnished wood with hints of liquorice, dried milk powder and muscovado sugar. Flavour of burnt Twiglet, liquorice, brown sugar, slightly leathery, doppelbock-like malt. No hops. Tasty.

Clear, medium-dark ruby red-brown with an almost white head, good UK pint bottle. Hated the stupid monkey on the label. A great bitter aroma. Sweet, not heavily bittered, raisiny-vinous notes. Bitterness kicks in during the finish. Medium to medium-light body. Bitter ale, light cereal, prunes in the finish. Chan’s Wine World, Panama City Beach, FL.

Pours a dark amber with an off white head. Aroma is rich malt, caramel, and raisin. Flavor is lightly roasty, caramel, apple, and a bit of hoppy bitterness.

Decent beer. Poured with a tan head that quickly settled down and no lace. Color is a lovely clear medium red amber. Aroma is very malty roast toffee and a hint fruity. Flavor is like aroma. Body is ok and so is carbonation. Finish is like flavor and medium in length. Serviceable beer. If you were in the mood for a straightforward malty ale this could be a session.

Cereal grains and light molasses on the nose. Clear ochre brown, thin yellow head. Sweet medium roasted malt and caramel flavor initially, turns slightly tart with an addition of lemon to the malt, and finishes with a walnut and lemon zest finish. Fantastic transitions. Complete brown ale, and actually more ABA than strong ale or EBA.
