3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours copper brown with small head. Aroma of caramel, some coffee - reminds me to Karo Kaffee, a German malt coffee. Sweet, but no heavy malt body. Almost dry, fruity finish, with a nicely balancing bitterness. Very drinkable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tasted 20/04/2008. Pours a reddish amber with a thin off-white head. Buttery caramel and a little milk chocolate dominates the nose, with a little stewed fruit, toffee and alcohol. Medium-heavy weight with a nice mild carbonation. Buttery sweetness comes to dominate the mouth, making it a little too cloying (and making me think of some sort of Monteithís "Old Ale"). A bit one dimensional in the mouth. A little more hop bite or roasted malt would make for a very enjoyable strong.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle...pours a dark amber color...minimal tannish head. Fruity malt nose...sweet, wow basically overly sweet malt flavor, maybe some caramelish toffee notes in there. Nahh, this ainít getting it done. It says "A powerful smooth strong ale...". Donít believe it for a second. Iíd believe a powerfully fruity sloppy mess, but thatís about it. Thin and crappy. Donít waste your time on this.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Ferm beer with a warm-brown color and a fluffy white head. It has a rich aroma of fine roasted malts with a hoppy accent. The taste is original and it has a smooth mouthfeel with hints of ripe fruits, touch of pepper, caramel and fine malts. It ends in a bitterness of roasted malts and hops.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Brewed in England....... 4th of July bash. Pours a copper color with zero head. Aroma of caramel, malts and candy. The taste is also of malts, caramel and a hint of fruit. The mouthfeel is mild, kind of thin with a bitter/sweet finish. Not bad, but not exciting either.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml brown bottle from The Lighthouse in Manchester. Pours a translucent dark brown-red with nearly an inch of off-white head. Smells roasty with hints of English hops, but the aroma is not that apparent. Tastes roasty, malty, nutty with just a hint of herbal hops present toward the finish. Tastes are fairly subtle, but are all very pleasant. Smooth, medium mouth-feel with some carbonation but not too much. Very drinkable, this beer is. At 5$ per bottle, itís a little pricier than something Iíd drink on a daily basis. But itís a smooth, easy-drinking, solid English beer that I may pick up from time to time.
