Tallahassee, Fl. - Liquor Loft - 500 ml bottle. Dark burnt orange to copper pour, tight khaki head. Fresh lake water aroma, hint of toffee. Flavor has some toffee as well, hint of caramel, a bit of butterscotch. Nice underlying bitterness throughout. Good Sesseion material.

Bottle (50 cl) from Systembolaget. Clear copper with a medium off-white stable head. Quite anonymous malt aroma, some dried fruits and herbal and earthy hops. Medium bodied and smooth. Dry finish.

Deep amber brown with foamy white head, lots of bubbles that sit there and don’t move. Brassy caramel malt aroma. Sweet but dry, clean, sessionable ale with not a whole lot of flavor and a thin, watery palate.

Bottle. Ruby body with a small tan head. Nose is fruity (berries, light apple, hint of cherry), malt, and light wood. Light flowery note as well. Taste is malty and sweet with a dulled fruit flavor - sort of like unsweetened apple chips. Light cocoa, flowers, and some toasty notes. Body is medium with a dense carbonation. Finishes with more fruit notes, cocoa, toasty malts, light caramel and a bit of wood.

Very dark roby body that is almost brown. The head is foamy and slightly yellowish colored. There is an aroma of iced tea along with some apples and caramel. There wasn’t much else to smell. The taste had some old tea along with apple core and some burnt coffee in the finish. Not bad, but it needs a little more character. Otherwise, a decent brew.

Clear, coppery brown, nice foamy head. Clean, bready toasty aroma, maybe a hint of burnt toast, as well. Similiar foacvor, maybe a touch watery. Notes of coffee, black tea, maybe some winey notes, too. Union Jacks, Knoxville, bottle.

Copper color with a small, but stable khaki colored lid. Loads of lace. Really need to sniff deep to catch much from this one. HInts of earthy malt and dark caramel. Yup, quite english in flavor. Some earth malt and a ever so mild licorice bite. Certainly nothing exciting. Fairly thin in feel. Nice bitter linger, but the flavors, or lack thereof, left me wanting more. But not necessarily more of this.

Sigmund (4933) - Tau, NORWAY - JUN 21, 2007
500 ml bottle, bought in Scarborough. Possibly filtered, but probably not pasteurised. ABV is 5.3%. As a cask ale it was voted "Champion Winter Beer of Britain 1998". Chestnut coloured beer, rich off-white to beige head. Very nice malty aroma with oaky and vinous notes, also caramel and dark fruits. Malty flavour with caramel, some raisiny and vinous notes, moderate hops. Moderate carbonation, soft mouthfeel. A pleasant beer to drink.

Completely clear brown pour with no real head to speak of - aroma of roasted nuts and caramel - light fruity esters, some cocoa and hazelnut in the flavor - kind of a bready, yeasty finish - decent - if it weren’t filtered and pasturized it would probably be a lot better.
