Bottle: Pours an amber/brown hue with a creamy dense tan head. The aroma has a great malt presence. Smooth sweet dark fruits- maple, plum hints and a subtle cocoa edge. The texture is great, soft carbonation. Feels like a well conditioned cask. Rich malt presence. Cakey, roasty, some bitter dark fruit skins and nutty suggestions. Later flowery British hop bitterness mingles with residual toasted cocoa notes into the finish. Nice malt character, and great texture. I would love to get a pint of this from a cask.

lagomswedish (213) - Umeå, SWEDEN - MAR 28, 2009
Bottle from the Systembolaget in Umeå. This is the sort of beer I miss living over here in Sweden - a thoroughly drinkable strong(ish) ale with bags of character. Pours a dark mahogony brown with aromas of rich black berries and a hint of coffee and smoke. Thick and rather flat mouthfeel and medium sweet middle. A smooth and balanced beer.

Hand pulled pint at a Spoons in Tamworth before a Grimsby Town night match on 27th March 2012. Ruby/mid-brown coloured brew with an off-white head of closely knit bubbles. Aroma was both malty and fruity. Taste wise: it was again malty and fruity, a drier hop bitterness comes late on the palate but this is a primary a malty brew. Body depth is good and the alcohol sits well within the whole feel.

Bottle from Rhythm and Booze, Ripon. Mahogany colour with a tan head that quickly dissipates. Caramel and pear drops lead into a quite sweet finish. A touch watery, but otherwise a very nice drop.

Fra flaske på Cardinaltreff jan-15: kort storboblet skum over en mørk rubinrød øl med en portvinsaktig aroma og smak, drapert i en slank og elegant kappe av maltsødme og humlebitterhet. Stor drikkeglede i 5,2%.
