Looks good with thin beige head atop a copper-brown body with red highlights. Mild aromas of malt and a little spice. Taste is driven by smooth malt, with sweet caramel coming through. Light bitterness kicks in toward the end, leaving a fruity aftertaste. Well rounded and easy to drink. Pretty good really.

Pours a hazy dark amber color with a small head that fades to traces of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel and nutty with some fruit and bit of spice in the background. Tatse of roasted malt, some caramel sweetness, bit of nuts and fruit. Mild bitterness and a quite dry finish. Moderate body and quite smooth. Decent drinker, fairly average for the style.

1/2 at the Tilly Stone Gateshead Brown beer with a white head A bit fruity, a bit bitter, like an English bitter from Central Casting. In no way offensive or unpleasant, but I was bored halfway down, even with a half, hence the just above half mark scoring.

[Cash at The Christopher Creeke (JDW), Bournemouth] Amber with a moderate cream head and a light sparkle. Caramel and cream are the main flavours in this unassuming bitter, with a light woody note and a mild bitterness. There’s not really a lot to it; nothing offensive, but nothing memorable either. It’s your archetypal boring brown bitter, but the creamy mouthfeel makes it less refreshing than some of it’s compatriots.

(Bottle) Clear coppery brown with thin tawny head. Aroma is sot caramel with a hint of spice. Medium body and fairly fizzy. Flavour is gentle, mainly caramel lay malt with some nuttiness and a tiny hint of bitterness in finish. Overall it’s a pleasant easy drinking beer, but nothing special.

Poured a brown colour with a beige coloured foamy head. Low carbonation. Aroma of caramel. Taste of malt sweetness followed by hops bitterness but with a smooth mouthfeel. Medium to full body. Good!

Bottle: Pours like old tea, soapy iridescent head....a lot of particulates/floaters. Scent is caramel, nuts.. Very mild with a bit of rougher bite.........Taste of nut, caramel and cola... Easy drinking and tasty...deserves more than it’s stats show.. A good solid beer.

Soft and gentle on the palate. Went down all too easily; a very easy to drink beer.

Little aroma, toasted caramel, dark brown, creamy head abates quickly, lightly sour, medium bitterness, but light body, soft carbonation, bitter finish.
