Cask conditioned at The Bell, Banbury. Black with cream head. Full chocolate malty beer with reasonable bitterness, roasted malt background, some sweetish caramel then fruitiness. A little mixed up perhaps but still nicely drinkable through the pint.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
[Daleside Brewery, Harrogate] Pours deep brown in colour with a fast-reducing tan-coloured head. Quite highly carbonated for a porter. Aromas of smoke, chocolate malt and bitter coffee, but the taste is quite sweet after the caramel malt flavours have come and gone. Still quite drinkable, however – but quite sweet for a porter

Bottle from Tbone, thanks! Deep dark brown color. Fresh coffee and caramel in the aroma. Medium bodied. Freshly milled coffee, molasses and a hint of chocolate in the flavor. Just a hint of malty sweetness. Pleasant porter.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of tbone_. Clear, dark brown with an orange hue and a small, rough, off-white head. Aroma of burned malt and cocoa. Quite light in body with hard roasted malt accents, a little chocolate and licorice with a light, underlying sweetness. There’s a vague malt bitterness in the finish. A light Porter but a nice one. 120108
