oh6gdx (5680), Vaasa, Finland Jan 24, 2007 Bottled. Dark rubyreddish brown colour with a small brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, smoke, licorace and ashy. Some slight wooden hints are also present. Flavour is strong roasted malts, with some burnt wooden-sourish hints. Also some licorace and coffee in the flavour. Aftertaste is mainly coffeeish bitterness. Easy to drink, and the carbonation tickles the tongue in a nice way. A bit thin palate, but otherwise good. FatPhil (2063), Espoo, Finland May 11, 2007 Updated: Jun 25, 2007Blind tasting with Tranquility. 500ml Bottle. Rich chocolately aroma. Smells of everything you’d want in a stout - chocolate, malt and hops. Taste delivers what the aroma promises. Full enough flavour to hide much more alcohol than the 4.4% it contains, strange that they aimed at that level. chris_o (4405), London, Greater London, England Mar 1, 2007 Cask (handpump) at the Bricklayers Arms Yorkshire Beer Festival, Putney, London. The beer of the evening for me. Not the darkest, or fullest, porter, but very tasty. Deep red/brown colour, with a modest beige head. Plenty of smoky malt and coffee in the aroma. More of the same on the palate. Some sharp berry fruit too. Smooth, but with enough bite to carry the show. An assured, mellow offering that went down very nicely.

Very dark ruby colour, small white head. Milk chocolaty, roasted malty aroma. Toasted malty, cold coffee flavour, quite weak palate, not far from Daleside’s Chocolate porter, but not as smooth. Long roasted malty aftertaste. Bov (4604), Bienne, Switzerland Apr 17, 2008 courtesy of oh6gdx - dark brown coloured with a fine and stable beige foam; correct lacing; toasted and deep black chocolatey aroma; sweet with a modest malt body and a solid carbonation; short chocolatey finish with notes of ashes
