Cask (gravity dispense) at the Pigs Ear Beer Festival, London on 6 December 2006. Rusty copper colour. Fairly malty aroma, with a slight smoky tinge. Nutty, chewy malt on the palate with suggestions of chocolate and licorice. Smooth mouthfeel with a modest bitterness. Decent without generating too much excitement.

Cask@Pigs Ear BF 06. Pretty crappy bitter. Quite sweet and malty, with nothing in the finish to give it that extra bite. This was very boring.

Pigs Ear. A pleasant malty ale with soft toasted butterscotch notes. A good flavoursome ale which slips down easy yet is quite satisfying.

Cask@BeerHunters, Pori. Copperish brown colour, smalloff white head, which lasts for quite a while. Aroma is flowery hops and slight fruity notes. Flavour is flowery hops, fruits, slight caramel, hay and some honey. Also some weird flavour I really can’t describe too well, but it is to the sweeter side. .
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 TBone (9414) - Pori, FINLAND - DEC 23, 2006
Cask@Beer Hunters, Pori Amber brown color, decent firm off-white head. Flowery hoppy nose. Faint body, starts quite weak and slightly sweet. Then moderate bitterness rises in the aftertaste. Underlying sugars or honey there too (not diacetyl, like some other ratings claim). Ok session beer, but not very XMasy though.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Pigs Ear BF. A dark amber coloured beer. The aroma is quite heavy on the alcohol with soaked fruits, but that darned diacetyl. The taste is fruity, malty and bready, and again shows good signs of alcohol. Tastes much better than it smells.
