Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Gold with white head. Light, thinnish, malty golden ale, a little herby hop to be getting along with, but overall too light on the palate, nice drinking in the bright sunshine though.

Breakfast half en route to Guiseley with Pops MacDrunkeasy, The Bankers Draft (JDW), Sheffield. Bronze-gold with a fine dissipating collar and clingy lace. Thistle and herbal hop aroma. Grassy, juicy satsuma hop, lovely fresh malt; cashew and white toast linger. Big hop and malt flavour at the strength. For breakfast, you can’t fault it.

Copper colour with a good frothy white head. Smooth flavour. Good session ale. Slight citrus honey flavour.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Copper with a small white head. Didn’t like the aroma, which reminded me of the industrial soap dispensed in the gents. Taste is more appealing, but still with that lemony soapiness. Mid bitter finish. And to be fair, it improved with the drinking.

Cask conditioned handpump Malt Shovel Northampton. A golden beer with a thin white head and lace. A biscuity malt dominated beer with lemony notes throughout. A gentle inoffensive Summer golden.
