3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Oakes (10191) - Gibsons, - AUG 11, 2011
Brassy amber. Thin head. Light hop nose that veers towards rotten fruits. One of the things I’ve never understood about brewing is where that overripe fruit character comes from. Is it a brewing fault or just the way certain characters manifest...in this case on my olfactory senses. On the palate, the fruits are not overripe at all, but very nice papaya, mango and banana. I’m glad I had the chance to try this again.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 ThreeCats (111) - ISRAEL - MAR 8, 2012
Slightly haze amber with a small head. Lively aroma of American hops. Taste is hoppy and light, with a malty undertone, yet a little thin - this may be better as a medium body beer possibly? Very refreshing though, and the palate leaves bitterness and citrus flavors and has good drinkability, though the carbonation is a bit too high for my liking.

Draught and the brewpub. Pours hazy copper with white head. Sweet aroma, some lemon, sugar candy. Bitter and crispy. Carbonated, light body, dry, bittersweet finish. One of my fave local beers.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Leighton (4097) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 4, 2011
Bottle at a post-ACBF 2011 tasting. Pours hazy gold with a fine, white head. Bready malts and pine aroma. Kind of a sharp, odd flavor, with light syrup and some grapefruit and pine bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. OK finish, some stickiness with slight sugar, but just a touch bland overall.

Bottle. Orange-amber with small head. Aroma has nice minty hop. Thin and mild crackery malt balanced by peppery hops. Balanced, bland, and boring. Yawn.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 19, 2011
Danke an Barak!

5th March 2011 ACBF - post fest tasting in Mes&Sims room. Thanks for sharing Harrisoni! Hazy gold beer, residual white head. Light dry palate. A little insipid grapefruit and orange. Touch of honey. Dry malt. Finishes semi dry. Not awful but need a fair bit of tweaking. More hops, more date honey could make an interesting beer!
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Grima (1573) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - APR 4, 2011
The beer in the glass is golden yellow, slightly cloudy. Citrus-like, aroma hoppy smell, Cascade comes through. The beer starts with lots of aroma hops, citrus, fruity and very refreshing. the aftertaste is fermented fruity and hoppy. Further, the beer is very pleasant hoppy fruity with floral notes. The finish is aroma hoppy with herbal notes in the background. Very balanced APA!
