COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Legend has it that 1,000 years ago, the Jews of Prague were saved from a marauding mob by a monster created in the private study of the great rabbi of the city. So big, so horrific, when spotted by the approaching peasants they turned on their heels and ran. When the threat had diminished, the Golem of Prague was escorted back to the Rabbi’s study where it is said he continues to stand watch to this very day. What was the secret that turned this mountain of clay into the fearsome, living and breathing Golem? Whatever it was, it must have been REALLY, REALLY BIG. The GOLEM – Each keg a different monster. 9.5% - ??% ABV

on handpump at Dancing Camel 13/01/13 - blaged it from David despite not being full moon! Alcohol taste very well hidden given the strength, possibly due to being iced rather than fermented to double figures - didn’t realise this ’til I got home! Pine aroma, followed by a fairly heavy mouthfeel and slightly buttery taste, with fruit aftertaste

Tap at beers 2013. Hazy amber with a thick head. Light aroma of citrus. Taste of hot alcohol, some citrus, full body. Surprisingly light palate

on tap at the brewpub, January 2012. Pours dark and cloudy with a little white foam. Smells of bun and some agave syrup and staste honey-sweet with a slight bitter finish. medium body, oily, long but not very dominant finish.

Handpump. Hazy amber. No head. Aroma is a bit minty, maybe some light dark notes like chocolate, but they are understated. Sweetish, veerying towards barley wine (it’s actually iced IPA). Has some abv to dry out an otherwise sticky finish. Decent, if a little unstructured.

Hand pump cask @ brewpub. Looks excellent, a deep red-orange with a naturally carbonated appearance from the hand pump. Very soft palate to boot. Aroma of popcorn butter diacetyl, as is the little sister IPA. But pumped up by the higher abv, the D doesn’t smell so overwhelming and integrates pretty well with the rich fruity esters. Nice body, it goes down so well, I forget to take notes throughout most of the pint. It’s smooth, and the ABV really works in its favor. This one could be trouble if you’re not counting.

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2010 At a tasting, thanks cortesy of David Cohen, the unmixed version of the Iced IPA 25.8%, WOW, pours orange to red sticky with no head, aroma of strawberries, honey, caramel, malt, nice acidity and some grapefruit notes, flavor of sour cherries, peach, grapefruit and some alchol warmth some saltiness in there, goes down smooth and easy, sticky and full bodied. Great From tap, @BeerFest Israel, 10% +, hazy red to brown liquid with medium beige head, nice acidity in the aroma some wild pleasant notes some cheese, balanced with some sweetness, flavor of grapefruit quite zesty and citrusy some salt notes can be sensed, finish is bitter nutty and winey. Mouthfeel is sticky and complexity is high. Excellent

Draught at the brewery (not really the regular Golem. Normally Golem is an iced version of their IPA that is blended down to around 10% with un-iced IPA - this rating is for the unblended 13.25% iced IPA). Pours roast red and viscous with minimal head. The nose has powerful notes of brandy, honey and orangey hops. Sweet and fruity, full bodied and waming. Dense, viscous and powerful with plenty of raisin and caramel. Still elegant with long piney bitterness.

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2008 On tap at "pre passover keg party": well it’s more of a barley wine the a double IPA, good swettish malty backbone, nice hoppiness, fruity, full bodied, some weak alcoholic notes, some weak chocolaty notes, some dried fruits like dates and raisins.
